Just curious: Where is the other GB of memory on the 2nd Gen Touches? They are supposed to have 8 GB of memory, but they really only have 7 GB of usable memory? What's the rest being used for? And why do they refer to them as 8 GB devices when there really is only 7 GB of usable space. That means than 1/8 of the memory space is completely unusable. It's kind of irritating, actually. Also, it seems that the 2nd Gens have 200 MB less space than the 1st Gens. Any idea why that is?
Default apps plus the OS, if you've ever used an external hard drive, a 500 GB HDD starts with around 450 because those 50 GB have the HDD work.
