The question is this: Where will iphone gaming be in 5 years compared to Nintendo and Sony. Will it be the main competitor for Nintendo, Will it stay where it is, will Sony come back (*cough*Yea right*cough*), or will it be at the top of the game beating both Sony and Nintendo in the handheld game market? I personally think it will leave Sony in the dust and catch up to Nintendo but be just short of beating it. What do you guys think?
But seriously... If Apple can keep up with hardware demands, and continue to lead the pack when it comes to innovation, I think iOS gaming has a very promising future. Sony and the others are already trying to replicate the App Store model.
Just seeing the progress of games from a couple years ago has me wondering what prevails from 5 years from now. I'm in total awe. I'm not so worried about Apple/hardware as I'am of the devs. Just hoping they continue to make the amazing progress in gaming that's all ready at hand.
I think it will be a serious contender to Nintendo. And I'm totally not wishing that to happen as a game dev...nope...not at all...
Phones won't even exist in 5 years. We will just use our mind telephones to update facebook and talk to people. And we will have tiny phone screens on contact lenses so we can see a picture of doodle jump. To control the doodler, we simply tilt our heads left and right. And you won't look an idiot because everyone else will have their contacts in and won't see you.
