Since many people are curious about the life of an iPhone developer, and there are many misconceptions floating around out there, we decided to make a little video tour of our world headquarters (Where The Magic Happens (tm)). Also, I promised that I'd do this if Harbor Master breaks into the top 5 in the US Top Paid Apps. It's #3, so here we are Enjoy!
What?!!! No executive washroom??? And no Cribz episode is complete without a tour of the fridge! And what about the new BMW/yacht???
Looks like Keith plays bass. Yeah!! Anyone who plays bass has got to have something going on! Of course I too play bass. It's really the only necessary instrument - everything else is pretty much filler... Love the video Natalia!
Nice to see where the magic happens, when you move into your new mansion you will have something to look back on with fond memories of the good ole days.
Very nice! I always picture a developer's desk to be some thing like below and not what I've seen in the video Pictures sourced from Google Again many thanks for the video, I enjoyed watching it
Glad you guys liked it! I think a lot of people have no idea just how small most iPhone developer shops really are - and we're probably bigger than most, actually. Keith plays guitar and bass and sings - he was actually the lead singer in a punk rock band a few years ago. If I really wanted to embarrass him, I'd post that stuff up And we cleaned furiously before doing the video. Come on - our moms are going to see this
Sounds to me like you guys are married, or at least together. But I don't mean to pry. Good luck with your studios and project.
Mucho kewl, I can hear EA moaning in envy. Just to think that if I'd bought a couple more of your apps their might have been a bowl of fruit on a table somewhere! Seriously it's great to see you guys having a place of your own and some dev kit to work as a gaming studio. I'm not sure we always realise how blessed we are. Look forward to see an update of the video in 2 years time. BTW what are your day jobs? PS: This must be the kewlest video on TA so far just because it's so real, and we spend all of our time here with stuff that isn't (well not really, in the scheme of things). Sincerely wish you well!
Haha - yes! Feed the indies! Yes, working on games full time now. Keith quit last April and got things started while I supported us for a year, and I quit just a couple of months ago. Before that, we were both did software development and management for enterprise web applications - Java Java Java!
Very nice office(and apartment)! Any reason that you have to sit in front of kitchen? . . . Just kidding never mind me. Love your game anyway. Looking forward to see more of your creation.
I knew you were both full time now, it was half a joke half half .(I know that's 1 1/2!) I guess the one closest to the kitchen does the dishes! Id' like to see how the premises of another "Indie dev" 8lbs gorillaz compare... I know what it means to leave the (relative) comfort of employment to depend on your own business, qudos to both of you, I'll buy another of your apps to be spent on an apple and a banana! We should all post a video of our digital piano and bass guitar now!
