I think never, they already let investors mess up the 3DS launch and I suspect Nintendo will drag it's feet on this until it goes away. If it does happen though I expect it will be older games only and probably within a year.
I think they're better off staying in their position right now. No one's going to buy the 3DS or any consoles if they brought games to the iOS.
If they did, they would be watered down and half-assed, like EA. Or worse, Capcom. Or worse, Konami. Or worse, Sega. You would get what you paid for, your money's worth, for $5. To a company like Nintendo, however, $5 doesn't get you very far. Dreams of a DS-quality Nintendo game appearing on the iOS are delusional. Nintendo would not give 40 dollars worth of fully featured content away for $5. And I don't even think for $10. (This, by the way, is the very obsticle that keeps most major console devs from delving into the iOS marketplace.) Bottom line, the day Nintendo develops games for any system other then Nintendo is the day that Nintendo becomes the next Sega. As long as they are a hardware and software developer, it will never happen. If they pull the plug on hardware development, and it looks like that could potentially happen down the road, then talk to me about this pipedream. iOS games still sell too cheaply on average for Nintendo to enter into this market and give a geniune effort. Right now, I would vote for "Snowball's chance in Hell." At least until further notice.
Where is the "Never - they are too stubborn for that" choice? That's what I would have picked if it were there.
