Jedi Nah, I'm an Athiest. But If I had a religion, I would be a buddhist or a hindu. They are the only religions that I can think of that aren't greedy, aren't brutal/violent and immoral, don't encourage kiddy fiddling, and they actually make the most sense.
Pretty much an agnostic-atheist since birth, since no one ever meantioned religion to me until we had to learn about it in school. Pretty much everyone in my family are atheists, what i know of. Im glad i was born in such a secularized society.
Lol. I was a Theravada Buddhist for about 3 years. It was nice, but the teachings on rebirth, heavens, and hells were kind of a turn-off. If I had to choose a flavor of Buddhism today, I'd probably take the Zen route. It's much more down to Earth than the other schools.
Christians and non-Christians can get along just fine as long as both are able to agree to disagree, and not try to impose their views on the other.
Yeah. With today's busy lifestyle and stress, I quite like the idea of being a buddhist. Laze around meditating, clearing the mind, taking in the incense/weed fumes, being with nature and all that shit. I have some friends that are actually Therevada Buddhist who live in a remote temple in the middle of a jungle in Sri Lanka. They are very happy people and where they live is freakin awesome.
Sort of a spiritualist/shamanistic route, but I don't actually believe that the spirits near the mortal world are really in control of much. Also, my belief centers on pregnant women as vessels of rebirth for spirits to enter the mortal world. I don't really believe that creatures incapable of sentience are capable of holding a human soul in the beginning stages of life. That makes it much harder for me to feel pity for things like chickens, geese, ducks, bugs, and spiders, though I do feel pity for those who have the bare minimum of intelligence or started off with much more mental strength than they currently possess. This also makes me very angry when people either condone inbreeding or support the rights of others to perform it. By dumbing down the human gene pool, you are making humans less capable as a species. Another part of this is that I have a belief in a finite number of souls, some of which have never lived, most of which are living or have lived in the past in some form. But to believe that they can be harnessed for anything, even a source of knowledge, is madness even to me. (And if anybody wants to come and preach to my door, I'll be glad to call the cops for trespassing, as you had to enter my front yard to do it. Failure of this to work will result in a massive rottweiler playing very roughly with you...)
lol, nice. I am considering becoming a Buddhist. I would like to live in some nice mountains or jungle, meditate, smoke weed etc. But I would be such a badass budhist, I would wear a black robe and if I saw a Tamil or anyone interupts me while meditating, I would whip out my nunchucks and smash their head in. Then maybe with them gone, I could clear my mind. I would call myself "karma" and seek out the idiots of the world and destroy them.
No I didn't know about it, but thanks for telling me about it, it looks great! I can't believe it is free too. Downloading it now
Until I see Jesus riding from behind a cloud on a golden stallion or reach Nirvana, I'll stay an agnostic. I'm probably closer to atheist than agnostic since I really can't swallow any religion, but I can never know for sure.
Convenient that Agnostic and Atheist are together, as i'm somewhat of both. Closer to Atheist though. Don't have any particular problem with any Religion, aside from the fairly gnarly history of most Religions. No, i do not agree with Atheists that speak out against other people's beliefs to their faces. Probably Buddhist if i had to pick a Religion.
