Seeing the "Hardest game you've played" thread got me thinking about what I consider my finest moment in my gaming career. I'd have to say it was learning how to use a controller for the first time. I'd visit my uncle and he'd let me attempt to play the original Spyro the Dragon on PS1. When I finally got the hang of it and could torch sheep like a pro, it was a monumental achievement to me. So what about you guys? What sticks out in your head as your most triumphant moment in gaming?
Played 150 hours on Final Fantasy Tactics, finished every quest, and had every person in my party at level 99 and every job mastered. Or maybe finishing Parasite Eve 2 on Bounty Mode with S rank.
My most recent one would be beating the hardcore mode in Dead Space 2 where you only have 3 saves and if you die you have to restart from the last save/beginning if you diet even save. May not be that hard to accomplish as others but certainly took some effort.
Getting the top tier gear, grinded to the max weaps, and got my char to lvl 200 in Phantasy Star Online V2.0 for the Dream Cast... Then spending every waking moment on that game making the game miserable for others through hacks. LOL
My biggest accomplishment was passing a dragonforce song on itg. This video isn't it, but it's the best i have on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn3dcO51ajI&feature=youtube_gdata_player (i'm on the right)
In a local gaming event, standing in front of a SF2 (the classic one, not any of the modified ones, the true original SF2), and clearing 20 people one after the other with Zangief (I could always get the Spinning Pile Driver off 99% of the time), to many obvious unhappy faces.
Mines not that great but more personal. When I finished halo CE, it wad the first game I ever finished. And after missing that bridge jump like 6 times I was quite happy afterwards.
I guess it would be some of the harder songs I've done in Dance Dance Revolution games. Maybe even just being able to complete Bowsers song on the hardest setting in DDR Mario Mix (which I love, even though most DDR fans do not).
beating Sephiroth in Kindom Hearts....on hard. Took me 3 hours. Numerous tries...minmum of 30 restarts. When I beat him, my hands were shaking.
He wasn't even hard...lol. I found it hilarious to find so many people online complaining about his difficulty level years after I completed the game 100%. He does the same moves over and over. You already know what's coming. Three elixirs was all you needed, in case you somehow didn't stop his sin harvest. But yeah, I was ten when I beat him. Got Kingdom Hearts and a PS2 for my birthday present that year. The game had only been out about a week then. In any case, KH is still my favorite game of all time and blasted off the RPG genre for me. Ardent fan of them now. Too bad KH2 was terrible for the most part. Edit: And yes, I played my first playthrough on hard. Also, it still remains as the one RPG I've put in the time to complete twice. Nothing has deserved that time since. Flying and swimming were so annoying in that game, lol. But yeah, I still cannot believe this was out in 2002. It surpassed every other RPG the PS2 offered up until then by so, so much it wasn't even funny. By the way, did you ever try casting aeroga against the Ice Titan? Kurt Zisa and Phantom were harder than Sephiroth in my opinion.
Havent played it in forever but The titans were a piece of cake for me. Didnt find them as hard as sephiroth. I wasnt good at games back in the day...only now do I find certain old games easy.
Lol, I didn't say the titans were hard. Too bad you only get to fight two of them in the game. Anyways, if you cast aeroga (wind shield) against the Ice Titan, which is another "hidden boss" like Sephiroth at the Coliseum, his ice bullets grew 5x in size, making them unblockable for the duration of spell. It was pretty interesting. Yeah, I haven't played it in forever either. Never got played again after I finished it a second time back in 2004. I might get one of the DS KH games one of these days, but I feel like they'll be even more disappointing than KH2 was.
