My guess is the type of gamer. Casual hates too hard, just wants to pass the time with an easygoing game. Hardcore hates too easy, always looking for a challenge and different ways to approach the problem.
I'd say too hard because too easy gets boring and if your not getting better at a game if you play it theres something wrong with you
Too hard-I don't mind a challenge, but making it too difficult leads to frustration, and I would probably not buy anything from the same dev again. Too easy isn't much better, but if it's a fun game I'd replay it when I just want to veg out.
Too easy is worse, like tiger woods, that was ridiculously easy. It was actually hard to try and drop shots on purpose. That's how easy it was!
Too easy is way worse, think about Demon's Souls on PS3. It's notoriously hard, but very balanced and never feels unfair. The difficulty is a lot of what made it great. Without a challange, I would have to say that there is not a lot of encouragement to keep playing a game. Just my opinion; however since the App Store appeals more to casual- or non-gamers, you would probably get a better response if it was too easy, from people who just want to experience the game. An easy option would be different difficulty levels
For me I can play too easy for an hour or so Too hard is o ly good for about 3 minutes I give too easy the vote simply for better value
too hard definitly makes me stop playing the game. too easy doesnt get me mad, it just maybe makes me mad when i beat the game very quickly and gives the game no replay value. ex of hard game: cocoto kart( so charming of a game thats just sooo hard, the coms dont give you any room to pass) ex of easy: cant think of one off top of my head? Foresaken media: i think you should make contained mode the middle mode and add an easier mode.contained gives me a good challenge and doesnt feel too easy. an example of a game with perfect difficulty: 7 cities td: really took some thinking and losses b4 you figured out a level and could beat it
hmm..tough 'too hard' makes me think of games like Eliss, space ninja, real racing. Eliss was ridiculously hard yet enjoyable, real racing (A division) was annoying as **** and I can't think of a game that's too easy. maybe a perfect difficulty would be the Creeps
Having bought your game last night I can say too hard is bad. Though so far your game isn't frustratingly hard yet. Maybe make guns reload a little quicker or something. Loving the atmosphere too, especially playing at night.
I would rather play a game that's too hard than too easy. If it's too easy, I would immediately delete it upon completion. If it's too hard, it's likely to stay on my iPhone for a long time, so that I would be able to return to it and complete it some time in the future.
I thought Jet Car Stunt's difficulty was perfect. Yes, the later levels needed for me to give quite a few tries, but the difficulty was good. And if you can't beat it, there's always casual mode.
Too hard is worse. Especially with a pick-up-and-play game on iPhone. I'd give up after a while and be pissed I wasted my money. Atleast if it's too easy you get to see all levels
Thanks. The update will be submitted tonight, and will include faster reload times and lower enemy damage (to allow for more mistakes) in contained mode. Interesting to see peoples opinions on the issue though
If it's a laid-back game that you should just whip it out and chill out with, then being too easy is fine. If it's a full, console-like game, better not be too easy.
