Love 2D games; didn't care much for Angry Birds. I can think of many attempts at bringing console technology to the platform that are far more entertaining. Then again, I would never call it the worst iDevice game either.
I didn't like Enviro-Bear. It's not the worst game I played, but I certainly don't understand all the hype.
Worst game I've played is Nazi Zombie by Pocket Monkey. A lot of pocket monkey games are bad but this one takes the cake.
I love flying games but Airliner is a bad game. Flying around trying to find small countries that you've never hear of before your aircraft runs out of fuel. Google maps is more entertaining for studying geography!
I don't love it or hate it; I have no interest in it at all other than laughing at the people who seem to feel that everyone must love it or they are an idiot.
Agreed. As soon as I see Game Salad splash screen I groan in frustration. I have a few good games that use it though. Worst games: Diamond Breaker. Any game that you buy, which then goes free with ads and you have to put up with ads and constant reminders to buy DLC.
They don't have to love it, but if the only reason they hate it is due to a lack of understanding then maybe they're not so smart.
Dungeon & Hero. Definitely the worst game I've actually spent any money on so far. Everything about that game just... failed. The controls were hard to use, the enemies had basically no variety, all the monsters were overpowered and required tons of grinding just to kill some of the most basic ones, boring quests, and the list goes on. I had to choose between that and Inotia 1, and I'm pretty sure I made the wrong choice. For games that I got for free, any game by DS Effects automatically shoots right to the top of the list. Most are reskins of eachother, and mostly turn out to be a crappy 2D "fighter" (if you want to call it that) with terrible pixel graphics. I've seen games that look great in that sort of graphic style (just check out King of Fighters XI), but their games were borderline unbearably bad. Also take into account that over half were generic games like Sudoku, word search, or hangman with an anime background, and you'll be confused as to how they ever got a developer's license in the first place.
EA's Skate It: Horrible Controls, Horrible Framerate on an iPhone 4, and the sound is broken. What redeeming qualities does this game have?
I agree with you to a certain extent. I think people who hate Envirobear lack a sense of humor or patience. At least most times.
That assumes they have played the game though. I think plenty of people are just not interested and are not buying into the hype. Even if it was free I probably wouldn't bother to download it; there are way too many apps for me to ever try all of them, so I will focus on the ones that look most interesting to me personally. It's nice to go by recommendations sometimes, but there is way too much noise and too many shills for that to be a more than a minor factor....and of course, everyone has different tastes.
It's got to be Hell Jump for me there has been some god damn awful jump games but this one takes it too a new level
There is a free version you can try on the PC if you don't want to risk a bad purchase. It's almost exactly the same. http://www.indiegames.com/blog/2009/04/freeware_game_pick_envirobear.html
I agree completely. Plenty of people get on my back for not having Phoenix Wright, Hook Champ, and/or Super Quickhook, just because those are the greatest game they've played. Yeahhhhh......
Well if you are not interested in/haven't played a game, don't go hating on it as you haven't given it a chance to prove itself as a worthy game.
