... and looking back, do you regret any part of it?

I'm curious to see how much people spend on games they love. Whether it be iOS titles or PC titles, feel free to share.

The most I ever spent was 140 German Marks on Final Fantasy IX for the PS1. Yes, the game was insanely expensive even for Germany. That'd be 140+ Euros today.

I once bought a friend a rare castlevenia for a friend on eBay because he didn't have a credit card. I think it was almost 300 USD. Luckly I was able to get my money from him. I know I wouldn't pay that much for a game. Unless it was an arcade cabinet. This guy is a collector. He buys 2 of everything. One to use and one to keep sealed in "mint condition".

Personally, it would probably be the SF4 collectors edition. I think it was 80 USD. Nothing crazy.

Normally it will be a hidden object game and if its good I'll splurge and pay $7-8 for it. It has to be a high quality and long game for me to do this.
I've been buying $5 hog's lately though only because I've been stuck at home due to an illness.

Yep, it was expensive. Still worth it. ^_^
Now you pay €70 on each console game which is almost equal to 140DM. Hmm, time flies by.

The most I've spend was on Mortal Kombat Trilogy for N64 which was 160 german marks.
    No regrets ^_^

Oh, I don't know if spending around €400 on IAP in O&C Online counts. xD

    £22 pin Left 4 Dead 2.

On iOS, my top is £3 for Magic the Gathering 2013 and 2014, Agricola and maybe one or two others.

@Nekku: true, but don't forget to take inflation into account. The average game back then was like 50-60 marks, expensive ones 70-90. 140 was just insane :)
And 400 on IAP is a lot...

Oh yes, iOS: 20€ for good stuff like Baldurs Gate or XCom: no problem at all to pay a good price for good quality.

I bought Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls UEE on PS3, PC and PS4. Little under $150. I only got the PC version cos it was the collectors edition. I haven't played it on PC.

On iOS probably Shadowrun, XCOM and KOTOR (at launch all of them) were my biggest expenses but probably Halo Reach on my good ol' 360 costed me ~100 USD for the collector edition, plus the DLC ~30 USD IRC and a 6 months Xbox Live Membership for the MP (~60 USD) summed up for a whooping 190 USD that I don't regret paying as it was my goodbye to Halo as Halo 4 was dreadful IMO and to Xbox in general, gets me nostalgic every time
BTW: I converted the values from Mexican pesos to USD, hence why the prices don't quite match the price in the US.

Most on an iOS game... probably around $5. I think that's what I paid for Jet Set Radio & Crazy Taxi when they launched on the platform.

Most on a console game? I'm thinking Zelda OoT when it launched on N64. It was $80 for that cartridge plus tax. I still have the receipt.

For most games I can wait for a sale or reduced price.. and I'm rarely ever buying iOS games anymore since too many of them get converted to freemium/paidmium.

I'm not sure on consoles. I mostly lag a generation behind, so I can--and do--buy used.

For iOS the most I've spend is PROBABLY on Ascension. I'm probably down about $20 on that with all of the expansions. Worth every damn penny, though.

$200 on Hearthstone. Not a one-time buy though, but accumulated purchases.

Next would be about $60 on Theatrhythm's songs and a few characters.

    $100 for Monster Hunter 3.

Every time a new Monster Hunter comes out I have to buy two copies so my son and I can play multiplayer. So... Monster Hunter 3, that came to about $100 ($40 for the 3DS version and $60 for the Wii U version) and for Monster Hunter 4 it was a little less... $80 (for two $40 3DS versions, there's no Wii U version this time.) When my younger son becomes old enough to play then I guess I'll have to start buying 3 copies, which will increase the price.

But adjusting for inflation the most expensive game I ever bought was Illusion of Gaia for SNES which was $80 when in came out in 1994, or maybe a little more I can't completely remember.

Last time I emailed Riot and asked I was at a little over $1,200 on League of Legends. This was about a year ago. I've been playing since the beta, so it works out to around $20 a month which is pretty god damn great for how many hours of enjoyment I get out of it.

It would take five years to get to $1,200 at $20 a month!

I think it was around $160 for a Sega Megadrive game, N64 games were around $120-$140 compared to PS4 which is typically $80-$100 day of release. Mind you these days they upsell with season passes and micro transactions (go Ubisoft and EA).

I like games I can buy outright, I rarely touch a game that has $100 currency packs no matter what platform it's on.

I started playing League of Legends in 2009. I've had an active WoW subscription since 2003, which amounts to a little over $1,800 in subscription fees so I guess that wins.
