Maybe Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor. It's not a puzzle game in the traditional sense, but it's a pretty good mystery game.
I purchased Myst just for the nastailgic value. I really like Return to Mystery Island and currently playing the sequel.
There's quite a few puzzle games listed in my puzzle game thread. If you're looking for the best puzzle games, my absolute favourites are in the second post of that thread.
Spider: Secret of Bryce Manor is not really a puzzle, but it's sort of a mystery. In a way. Just try it out. Fallen (ep1) is a puzzle breakout game. Real good graphics with more levels to come.
I was just about to start a thread for this but instead I searched it and found that one already exists So, what are a few good mystery/detective games? Ones along the lines of Nick Chase.
Okay, what you're asking for is point n click adventure games, and theres already a thread for it here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=41704
I was actually leaning more towards games like: The Mystery of the Crystal Portal The Treasures of Mystery Island Hidden In Time: Mirror Mirror Alicia Darkstone Sherlock Holmes Mysteries The Lost Cased of Sherlock Holmes Women's Murder Club Marooned ...etc. Those are all of the games I am considering in the genre. Has anyone played any of these and know which ones are worth it?
+1 to Haunted Mansion. Nice graphics and gameplay. Prepare to spend a LOT of time with it getting frustrated though.
In casual games, the term for this genre would be "Hidden Object" All of those you mentioned are pretty good. There are also the Big Fish ones - Nocturnal: Boston Nightfall, Hidden Mysteries (Buckingham Palace & Civil War), and Hidden Expedition (Everest & Titanic). You might want to check out also Dream Chronicles (highly recommended), Stone of Destiny, and Cassandra: Legacy of Nostradamus). I would stay away from the HdO series (Frankenstein, Secrets of the Vatican, Hollywood, Time Machine, Profiler, etc).
Thanks for all of the suggestions, those were exactly what I was looking for. Sadly I can't get them all so which would you say have the best storyline/plot and mystery detective aspect.
Myst has best storyline and most myestery. If you need help, there is an excellent hints guide, which allows you to regulate the amount of help you want. And the environments are beautiful+nostalgic
