I was surprised crimson heart didn't come up sooner. It has a pretty dedicated community on the thread here at TA. I really liked the first 2 Zenonia's. I have, but haven't played much of wild frontier. I'll have to spend some more time with it soon. I've deleted most of the krpg's that I've downloaded. The fact that I kept it says something good about it. How's chroisen? Same publisher as wild frontier. Currently I'm playing heroes in time. It's definetly up there as one of the better krpg's in my opinion.
Wild frontier, crimsonheart and inotia 2. Never understood the zenonia hype, i tried them all but didnt like any of them. Oh, aurum blade(sp?) is very fun too. It has a hint of diablo about it
Hate to revive this long dead thread but has there been any recent, good KRPGs? Like Stone of Life style? Just wasn't sure if there was anything more recent that I may have missed.
I don't know if you consider auto-battlers produced in Korea that use ARPG battle systems as KRPGs, but Shadowblood is a new one that has nice graphics, and also has the option to play through levels automatically and continuously. So for example, I was level 2, set up the auto battler and when I woke up in the morning I was level 8. =P The only recent KRPG game I've seen is Djinn Caster, but it's developed by an Indonesian team and published by a Japanese publisher so I don't know if you would call that pure. I do have a question though - from that initial list that was posted 6 years ago (the list of the 'best') which still work on modern devices and which don't? I've only found Illusia works to some extent but many of the others (the Zenonia games, Wild Frontier) don't work anymore. Anyone know of classic KRPGs that are still updates?
Not 100% sure, but it made me want to go in and fire up the old Zenonia Games (FTP).. Then I remembered that Zenonia did a new release a year or so ago - I never really tried it out, so it will get played this week a little bit..
Was going back to play some of the older KRPGs after Shaun’s article today reminded me of the Zenonia days. And, wow, pretty much all of them are gone from the App Store. Across Age, the early (good) Zenonias, Aurum Blade, Wild Frontier. Only one I found — not even mentioned in this thread — was Stone of Life (same dev as Aurum Blade). So sad. Edit: Aurum Blade is still on the store. Just not 64-bit.
