With school, I've noticed a dictionary on-the-go would be really useful. Dictionaire: The Simple Dictionary just isn't cutting me for it. Also, I'm not going to buy a $30 one. I ask this because the reviews on iTunes are pretty inconsistent. Any recommendations?

    Wordbook.
It was on sale a while ago for $1.99, but now it's $3.99. I think it is a good dictionary for the price, if you don't want to spend way too much for a name-brand dictionary!
It's fine for students and general use, IMO.

Agreed! WordBook is the best and at a great price and just had some nice updates as well. Has word find now. Recommend it.

I bought WordBook for my son for school and it is really great.

I'm pretty sure I paid even more than the current price but it was worth it. I use it a lot for Crossword puzzles and my son uses it for school.

I don't know how a dictionary app could be better than Wordbook.

BTW, do you see any irony in your thread title?:p

Whoops. meant to say best. I'll change that now thanks.

  7. Wordbook is on sale now $1 think it feels the pressure from Dictionary.com free app. I got Wordbook for $2 and like it much more then the free Dictionary.com. When it was $4 though I can see people just choosing the free one though but at $1 if you need a quality one this one is the one to get.

Anyone know a Dictionary app that doesn't need a wi-fi connection?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record; WordBook.

I like Dictionary.com's app. It's free and works offline.
