3. It has a microphone, the screen is LARGER (That's a lot more screen that the iPod doesn't have), it has a 178° viewing angle, a screen orientation lock, unified processor power. 4. Flick Fishing HD doesn't have flick to launch, you hold down a button.
I have an iTouch 2nd Gen and I am fine with that, the iPad has no relevant features, but what I am tempted for is the big screen, very good for playing board games with others, like monopoly, domino, card games and others like flight control to be played in the same big screen but I don't think that feature is worth the price since I can play does games with real things ( though Monopoly hate to count money and that stuff ) I am waiting for 2nd or 3th gen of the iPad
If I would buy the iPad, I'd go for the 3G version, because I want to surf the web anywhere. I would also get 64GB for my music and games. That's 830 dollars! Hmm.. What's able to do that and more? A laptop. Where do I find an $800 laptop, that's small, light, and fast? M11x Hell yeah. I live in the Netherlands, and since Apple likes price like this $=€, I think the laptop would be better. Got mine for 800 euro's, 320GB HDD 7200RPM, 4GB RAM and the SU7300. For me, the iPad isn't worth it at all. It's a big iPhone or iTouch to me, I prefer a (powerful) laptop, because it's much easier to work with, game with, and it's relatively cheaper. E: Of course, the iPad is great for many people! If you need something to browse the web and play casual games, this is what you should get. So my post wasn't just to say "oh look guys the iPad sucks", but I wanted to show that it's useless for students or gamers, just get a gaming laptop or mac book (pro).
Unfortunately, your wisdom falls upon deaf ears. People here would buy and defend used toilet paper straight from Apple's garbage disposal chute at a rate of 300usd/sheet.
The iPad doesn't have full browser capabilities does it? No flash, no java, no shockwave, or any other fun plugin that makes surfing identical to the PC? Does it have any full-fledged document programs like MS Word or PDF readers (or Apple's clones of them)?
The iPod Touch isn't a smaller iPad as it came first (I find it funny that my mac has put a red dotted line under iPad and offers iPod as a correction) I tried the internet, and it is cool, but it is also just a bigger iPod Touch version, and that is why it is better. Also, whenever you get something new you will use it more, when I got my 360, I played about 5 hours a day, now I play that amount in a week most of the time.
I originally thought I would only use my iPad for web browsing but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. The apps allow me to view comics/pdfs and I can even stream videos from my pc to my iPad now without dealing with iPod converting programs and syncing them to itunes. I guess the argument here is that the upcoming tablet PCs can do anything windows can but I don't think the user experience will be necessarily be better with more versatility. PC programs aren't designed for Touchscreens and I wouldn't want to deal with configurations and install headaches if a windows program won't install properly onto the tablet. I do think tablets are where mainstream consumer PCs will transition into though but I'm guessing that won't happen for another 10-20 years.
