I doubled the price of Realmaze3D recently after reading one too many people say "how come this is only .99". ;) It dropped out of the top 100 a while ago, so it seemed like a good time to experiment. Hard to say after 2 days, but so far it seems like a good decision. I was going to wait until version 1.2 came out before doing that, but it's taking forever to get approved.

Ah that makes more sense I was figuring how in app purchases would traslate to DLC :)

Anyhow DLC must not be equal to pay for it.

You are not the only developer to notice that.. once in the Top 100 it helps to move a game up the list to have a 99 cent sale.. but once it drops out there is not much difference in how much you make if you price it at .99 or 2.99.
You might sell 1/2 as many but then you make more on each sale.

unfortunately, the market is so saturated with "crap" or lower quality games, that people would rather take their chances with a bunch of .99 games and maybe get lucky with one, rather then spending $5 on one game, and having it flop, wasting 5 bucks.

imo, if a game is going to be over 2 bucks, it should DEFINITELY have a lite version.

also, i do understand the dislike of the constant sales and fluctuating prices. imo, it should be parabolic. start off low to generate sales and bring in the otherwise on the fence customers. raise it up after a week to "ride the (any) success" the game made with the sale. once the game dies, lower it back down to see what you can get out of it before it completely disappears.

Actually, unit sales seem to be about the same after raising the price. In fact they went up noticeably yesterday, but 2 days isn't enough to know if that's a trend. Still, I'm thinking I should have done this a few weeks ago....
