If you can't decide between two good foods, eat them both.

The Thai or Chinese flavored as opposed to beef of chicken. What was confusing?

    beef stew all week!

wow those are some scary looking dishes to me. looks like a dish of worms, and some meat found outside. not my kind of food ;)

prefer classic american food + italian.
having beef stew tonight with bread...pretty simple after you brown the beef, toss everything in a pot an let it stew for few hours!

That's epic. How do you line the top like that?
Man try this sauce with your next meatloaf. It's a Nigella recipe but just takes meatloaf to the next level. I use brown sugar instead of the muscovado.

"Make your own gravy as a sumptuous accompaniment. To a saucepan, add the juices from the cooked meatloaf to 50g dark muscovado sugar. 125ml beef stock, 4tbsp each of Dijon mustard, soy sauceand tomato paste and 1-2 tbsp red wine vinegar. Warm and whisk and pour into a jug to serve"

Meanwhile just made pumpkin and thyme soup with parmeson croutons and some saffron chicken. Huzzah

    so good

    nice cooking! looks good...

you have to fry the bacon so its just a little crispy. dry off the grease from the bacon well. then after your meatloaf is cooking in a (i use) electric roasting pan at 375 for 2 hrs. then layer the bacon across the top of your meatloaf and cook for another 30mins or until bacon is crispy firm.

you can also put raw bacon on the meatloaf but it takes more work and doesn't look as pretty - because you need to cut off 90% of all the bacon fat, and leaves you with odd looking small strips of bacon meat. if you leave the raw bacon uncut, it will turn into a big greasy mess.

the meatloaf is from my grandma and is simple that anyone can do. lean supreme ground beef, cup of diced green bell pepper, 1 big onion, salt/pepper, 2 eggs, half cup of italian bread crumbs, mix with hands to form a round loaf. add just very little water at the bottom of the roasting pan to help steam cook 2hrs. then add the fried bacon on top and cook 30 min until fully crispy.

then just make mashed potatoes and beef gravy on the side. :)
