There is no difference in the way these things are made. Walmart has Ipod specific ones as well as generic ones for your cd player. Radio Shack has em. All these (cept maybe the ipod specific one) are below 20.00 and they ALL function exactly the same.

I tried to find a 'high quality' one before, no such thing. the 10.00 one works the same as the 40.00 one. they give "decent" sound quality, but nothing like you'll get from a wire. When the battery starts fading so does the quality. and even with an expensive one you may run into problems of radio stations cutting in a little. Don't get me wrong, i had several, used em, liked em. But as soon as I could afford it I just bought a radio with an aux plug on the face for my car and ran it to my iphone. 99 bucks and I should've never touched the fm transmitters, they almost cost as much as the car stereo all put together....

So the lesson is, buy an off-brand cause it does the same thing as the shiny apple one. then when you can, upgrade your stereo.

In truth all FM transmitters f*cking suck. I use one that Docks, Charges, and Transmits and that was way too much. I just got it as a present. But it works the same as one I got before it that was half the price, and that one sucked (and broke).

In short they all suck, it's just which one sucks the least. If at all possible it's best to direct connect but not even car made before 2008 has that feature.
