Hello everyone! AdoreStudio here, the creators of Ninja Dude vs Zombies, cute tap'n'slash arcade action game that got some Apple App Store's love! We're now seeking Android publisher for our game and would really like to know your experience working with a Publisher, if you have any! It's always better to get some reviews from a fellow gamedev community before starting to work with a selected publisher. Maybe you had bad experience, so let's then compile a black list of publishers. Maybe you had a great experience, so let's then create a white list of publishers. What do you think? P.S. Sorry if similar topics have been already raised here. Didn't manage to find one.
Don't have any experience with a publisher myself but I feel this guy said a lot of useful things in his talk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAI5W7Y5H28
Hey there! Thanks a lot for the link! We'll check it out asap. And we really regret we missed this GDC in SF;(
Nigel Lowrie's talk on GDC We've managed to check out the video. The title is a bit delusive We'd say he was talking about the right questions to ask your potential publisher or partner before entering the deal. That's the most important part of his talk. We assume that only after you failed to receive decent answers to your questions (or didn't receive them at all), then you should probably self-publish your game. According to our experience, plus those questions Nigel mentioned it's almost impossible these days to find a reliable publisher (unless you're making a game that you know a particular publisher will take (you know his platform, genres and type of games he's looking for)) Nevertheless, lots of indie still consider working with a publisher to help them release the game and promote it after.
