Hey everyone, Simple little thread - what was your first system you ever owned? The one I owned was a simple Sega Genesis, although my brother owned a Nintendo, and the family owned the Atari, and I did have access to an old Comador computer but the one i owned first was a Sega.
My family's first console was the Nintendo Entertainment System, my sister's first console that she could call her own was the Nintendo 64, my first console I could call my own was the Game Boy Pocket, and my first home console I could call my own was the Nintendo Gamecube. I always say that if I am a fanboy of any company, Nintendo is the one. The above history just might be why
The first system we had was an Atari (my parents owned it before I ever existed). Then we had Nintendo, Sega Genesis, SNES... the list goes on. The only one we missed was Sega Dreamcast.
This thing. I remember buying it at BiMart. Black & White with three games: Pong, Squash and Soccer. Handles fit neatly in the back of the case.
Sega Genesis. I was 17 and it was first thing I bought when I got my first month's salary at my first job.
My parents had a ColecoVision and an Amstrad CPC when I was born, so I grew up messing about with those. I had friends who owned the NES and Master System so I spent a long time playing those, then the first console I actually owned was the Sega Genesis... and at exactly the same time my friend was given a SNES. So I was pretty well-rounded, no brand loyalty issues for me. My sister got a PSX about the same time as I got an N64 too, it's good to be on both sides of the fence when it comes to gaming.
ColecoVision, with its crazy controllers. The first one that was all mine was the NES. I got it with Mario/Duck Hunt and Tiger Heli. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a whole new world for me.
