The iPod (at least models with more than 8gb size) can multitask now also. It depends on what functions you will need the most, really. What are you looking for in your device?

  3. But what do you need the device for? The iPad isn't really for the same thing as the iPod. The iPod Touch is centered around music and portability; the iPad is designed more for productivity and web surfing, and isn't something you'd likely use as your every-day music player. If you have an iPhone already there's not much point in getting a Touch -- you're better off upgrading your iPhone if that's what you're really after. But if you want some notebook-like features with better productivity in a tablet form factor then get the iPad.

F*ck the iPad, get a Touch. lmao

Nah, in all honesty though, it really depends on what you are going to use it for. I would wait for a second gen iPad though. Not that the current one is bad, I just usually wait for 2nd gen and up products from Apple.

Typing on the iPad is better than iPod. The iPad has a bigger screen and is way better for gaming than the iPod Touch simply because of the screen. So if you want complete package in a small device then buy iPad.

I game and listen to music more; the iPhone 4 is perfect for me (or iPod Touch would suffice fine).

Wait for the iPod Touch 4G - that would be my best advice.

Yea there's really no point in buying an iPad when the 4G Touch is so close.

I hope so. The 3rd gen iPod touch was a f*cking nightmare. Totally not worth the upgrade thats for sure. I am really hoping the 4th gen Touch will be quite literally down to the bone just like iPhone 4. Look-wise, retina display-wise, camera-wise. Everything. Without the phone that is... lol

i would of upgraded if gen3 had a camera.. im glad it did not. depending on what hardware the gen4 gets i may of had to upgrade from gen 3 to gen4. my gen2 to gen4 is a no brainer.. upgrade indeed!

also ebay is getting flooded with gen 3 ipod touchs.. i guess people getting the $$ to upgrade.
    chris.

    p.s

i originally found this place by looking for a forum for my ipod touch.. the first thread i read on here was when the gen 3 ipod did not get a camera.. there was major hate going in that thread.. was rather amusing to read :D

jobs almost lost his fanboys, almost. laughs.

Yeah that'll never happen. They'll lick the scum from Job's balls if he told them it was "New and Innovative".

The iPad isn't necessarily better for games. Accelerometer games on the iPad can be hard to play because the iPad is so big/heavy. Also trying to play FPS games is a joke. I feel that the only games that iPad is better for are strategy, board games, tycoon games etc.

The battery life is gonna be the dealbreaker for me, I want something much more impressive than my 2nd gen Touch. For some reason I don't hear iPhone 4 owners mentioning it much... I would have thought it was a pretty big deal since the iPhone battery life has always been kinda bad.

yeah the battery life in my gen 2 sucks especially after iso4.

well i say make the ipod a little thicker add a bigger battery.. i have big hands so the ipod is already to thin for me.. i use it with a nice leather case which adds some bulk.
