Listening to The Show Goes On by Lupe Fiasco a lot again. Love the song. That's All She Wrote-Eminem & T.I. Money to Blow-Birdman Marvin's Room-Drake Lights Turned On-Childish Gambino
My friend listening to Lupe Fiasco - LASERS all the time made me go back to listening to The Cool, and I still love it as much as ever. Keep listening to "Go Baby" when I drive.
red at night - The Gaslight Anthem I've also been listening to a lot of london rappers following the riots, like mic righteous and reveal
I've been listening to the Scavengers album by the band Calla. It's kind of dreadful and dreary but in a good way
Threads like this always deteriorate into obscure music snobbery. I'm not afraid to admit, I only listen to mainstream/commercial music. Not too much modern stuff. Everything is studio produced/computer enhanced these days. It's like the 80s on steriods. Auto-tunes and voice-layering and other forms of music trickery. Can't anyone actually sing anymore? It is a lack of talent, or just laziness? I don't know. Way too much sampling too. Not much of a fan of high energy dance pop in general, but This Friday Night by Katy Perry has got to be one of the most catchiest songs ever recorded. Don't get me wrong. I prefer "artists" write their own songs and play their own instruments, but there's something about that song.
this is as i posted on the forums main lounge page, F.O.E there a local Indy band/alternative from Ohio and are trying to get known, this is a video they just made for a song called dreams... the video alone does not look anything amateurish...they sound like they should be on the radio now that's how good they are. props to Justin the pianist/song writer the music is really good too...check em out give em some likes if you dig it they could use it... http://youtu.be/FbR-O8u-YC0
