I think I would say only 20%. It's like that moment when you buy something, and soon after you realise you didn't need it in the first place.
I like most games, however I don't have the time to play them and my backlog increases and increases.
Out of the last 50 games I've bought in past two months . I might still have 1 maybe 2 left. Either because I immediately didn't like it or quit playing after and hour or less . Crash lands, punchclub, mines of Mars are a few that I played more than a week or so non stop
I get a lot of stuff in sales too, and I'm pretty clear and choosy about what I like. Despite that I still have a massive backlog. However, it must be around 90% for games, and about 70% for apps. Following Touch Arcade has definitely made it easier to find the good games, but hasn't given me the extra time to play them all... 2016 buys so far (oh dear): Crashlands - so worth it Tennis Champs Returns - tiny unlock price, but worth much more Super Phantom Cat - yes FF IX - yes Ys 2 - Backlog, but loved part 1 Warbits - backlog KOTOR - on sale, backlog PKTBALL - free, but well worth time and money Looty Dungeon - see above Special Tactics Online - free, backlog Dust AET - backlog Furdemption - free, and amazing King Rabbit - free plus tiny IAP for level pack, backlog Punch Club - sale price, backlog Momoka - sale price, backlog Loop Mania - not for me, but free Hammer Bomb - as above Star Knight - sale price, solid game, but not for me Lost Socks - yes, absolutely Room 3 - yep A Noble Circle - yep Chel-Z - hmm White Day - decision pending... OK, maybe not quite 90%, but a high hit ratio for the premium stuff.
People who say mobile is awful and only has f2p trash or something along those lines need to see this list. Wonderful!
With thousands of games purchase and hundreds of apps - the things that are still on my device is about 3 % games and about 5 % apps that have lasted more that a few months.
I don't think you can say a game/app wasn't worth it just because it's no longer on your device. For me, if I've gotten any decent use out of something I paid $1-5 for, the extent of that use, or the continued use, has already been made worth the price. That said, I have bought tons of games that I still haven't played. Worse yet, I've bought a large number of games that sit on my phone for months only to get deleted to make space, which of course I forget about and never re-install. It's easier to sleep at night if you think about these wasted purchases as part of a larger canvas. Off the top of my head, I think I'd say I wish I hadn't bought the half-price pop-up deal in Tiny Tower Vegas, but considering all the time I put into that series of games, and some other games from NimbleBit, it more than evens out. Pull back even further, and I can't even count the value I've gotten out of the vast majority of games I've paid money for, let alone the free ones. It's definitely all relative. I hate it when people compare game prices to cups of coffee, as if they have pinned me as a double mocha half-caff triple shot chai drinker. But sometimes I think about how much I've paid for other things, like console games, or tabletop games, and I can't seem to get upset about never getting around to that $3 game. tl;dr: 99% worth it.
