I actually did this when I got my iPhone 3G. I found a field and did this.

It's ridiculous and mildy impressive how fast Apple has updated their line-up. New iPod Touch's every year, revamps to the Nanos, constant upgrades to the MacBooks and iMacs (well, that's a tad easier since computer components are getting increasingly faster and more powerful). Electronics are damn expensive, too.
