What are the Weirdest Albums you have in your Music Library Mine are: Quite possibly the weirdest in my collection (or at least my favourite of William S. Burroughs discography). Neil Young's best synth effort - one of them Love it or Hate it albums. (I love it). Not really an audio book, or an album - more like an old radio play or a movie for your ears, definitely worth tracking down.
A Shoggoth on the Roof - the Cthulu Mythos musical Univers Zero - Heresie - some ridiculous death and gloom and moaning strings shit Kashiwa Daisuke - Program Music I Post-rock, glitch, ambient, and IDM. It's two songs that are 30 minutes each.
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy Nirvana - Nevermind Soundgarden - Superunknown Steve Vai - Alien Love Secrets
To add to my list... Wolfmother - Wolfmother The White Stripes - Elephant Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
*COUGH* brokenCYDE *COUGH* Seriously though, my friend recommended it and I didn't have a chance to delete it
Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart. Depending on my mood the album either makes me smile or gives me a headache.
I have a love hate relationship with TroutMaskReplica - there are moments of complete brilliance, but sometimes it is thrown away on the mere gimmick of sounding "bad" on purpose. Still it never leaves my ipod My favourite Beefheart album is Safe as Milk - I think it has some of Ry Cooder's best early playing.
Define weird... I am sure Me, Balu` and Midian will top anything any of you have. LOL I'll throw this in as one of the "weirder" albums I have. What... the... f*ck... those aren't even weird at all. Unless you mean "Queer" in which I totally agree.
Off the top of my head.. Coil - Black Antlers or Diablo Swing Orcherstra - Buther's Ballroom or Unexpect - In a Flesh Aquarium
Weird doesn't necessarily mean underground, hard-to-find, obscure, etc. but it can be. Weird might be a strange choice of direction for an established artist, or it might be something avantgarde by some random dude. Or anything in between really. Weird is something you have to define yourself - and usually becomes less "weird" the more you acquire the taste. For instance - the William Burroughs album I listed was very strange to me during the first few listens, but now I regard it as pretty much any other album in my library.
Probably Tonight the Stars Revolt! by Powerman 5000. Basically, I haven't been looking for music long enough to have a really weird album.
