I'd say the original Crash Bandicoot series. There was nothing really complicated about them; just a simple platformer that's a ton of fun, with an equal amount of personality.
For me, it's either Banjo-Kazooie (Which has a spiritual sequel coming out) or the Grand Theft Auto series. Took a long time of decisions, I had to kick out the Need for Speed series because of its recent plunders.
