Moxie, a game I return to time and again. Very simple but incredibly addictive and a game all word game fans should own.
Must.Eat.Birds looked retarded. I gave it a very quick WTF glance and then moved on by. After reading about it here, though, I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be really fun and well produced. Robot Master... I didn't care for the graphics at all (Marker Felt? Bleh). But having been a fan of Reiner Knizia's Poison and reading the fast growing thread here, I bought it, and it's really challenging, fun and surprisingly well made (despite the tacky font).
doodle jump. I expected it to be off my device in a month, but it is still there. In fact, I got a new high score today. and big top ten, I am not going to tell you about the time I got my current high score for that game, as I think the circumstances were illegal...
Baseball Slugger, and Doom ressurection. Didn't think much of either at first, but then I found myself oddly loading these puppies up, time and time again.....weird
WestBang. For a buck, I was amazed at how polished and fun the game was. Rolando 1. I was surprised at how BAD it was. Card ninja. I bought it not expecting much but I found it was pretty cool, introducing new rules every round.
Same for rolando. I bought it cause everyone raved about it. However it's just soo annoying, frustating and pointless. It looks gorgeous, the controls are a treat and the interface is great. But the gameplay is just so tedious, having to go back and get different rolandos the. Having to escort the king who is retarded. Sorry the gameplay was just so huh. Anyway, bounce on, stoneloops, slugger, dinosmash, eliss, flight control and zen bound are all great games that I was very sceptical about before buying. Now I really enjoy them.
Whatever floats your boat....for me, I can't believe you just said Rolando was tedious, but Zebound was great. Huh? I really tried to like that game, but just couldn't get myself to open the app up after a few goes. A nice show case to show off the idevices' capabilities, but as a game, I would rather watch paint dry.
True. I don't play it and it was more of a show off application than an addictive video game. I was surprised at how well the elements and mechanics of the game worked together, especially the sound and nice visuals - I wasn't expecting anything and it exceeded my expectations. However rlando let me down.
Fair point. I guess I can see where your coming from now. I would say my most surprisingly enjoyable game was Doom res. like many I think. My most suprisingly disappointing games must be Fieldrunners (go on, flame me, you know you want to)...
I agree about Fieldrunners. Everywhere I looked people were saying it was so great, but I played for about an hour then never played it again. As far as TD's go, The Creeps is probably my favorite because it's so simple and cartoony. That and 7 cities. What surprised me most was probably Baseball Slugger and Puzzlings.
The game that surprised me most on the iphone was assassins creed. When I first heard about it I was kind of doubtful as well as happy. It was one of my favorite games on the 360 and I couldn't wait for it to be released. But my doubts came in the controls as well as the stability and smoothness of the game. But when it came out it was amazing and the controls worked well and it was very smooth and just a great game. Irecommend it to everyone especially at the price of 5 bucks and it will last a long time.
geoDefense—My first tower defense game for the iPhone was Fieldrunners, reading the description of geoDefense, it didn't sound any better and I thought that because of its fixed paths but giving this a go during its sale, I'm really surprised at how well this game actually is. I've since stopped playing Fieldrunners. Strategery—Not that I was expecting Strategery to be bad in anyway but I also wasn't expecting it to be this good either. Even on the Brutal difficulty, when the AI just begins to pick on you, it's still hard to put it down. Baseball Slugger 3D—Another game I wasn't too sure what to expect but in the end, adored. What makes this game great is its online aspect but as well as this, it is a polished game with plenty of upgradable items to dress up your character. I Dig It—Having played the Lite version, I wasn't too fond of what it was. It wasn't bad but nothing attracted me either to purchase the full version. Considering it was on sale, I thought I'd give it another go. I don't really know what it was but I'm hooked to the game now.
