As much as I like Bubble Bobble (I have an actual PCB set and a JAMMA interface for it in my garage ) I doubt I'd play it on my iPod. I just don't like virtual D-Pads, and this game needs good control. (Checks) The theme & sounds for the C64 version are in SID Player, if that's any consolation. Back on topic, I'm still waiting for a truly good FPS on the system. The two IMHO are Doom Resurrection (which really isn't an FPS) and Wolf 3D Classic, which I've already played enough (and prefer having real buttons ala my GBASP...) As for JRPGs, have you tried Vay? I've still got it on Sega CD, I don't know how the new one compares, but they look very similar.
TrackMania United Forever or TrackMania 2 (was announced End of September I think! ). As long as it'S better than the DS version...
FPS = First Person Shooter That means that you're in 1.st person view and can shoot. It doesen't say "First Person Shooter where you can moove arround freely"! DR is a Real FPS.
Ugh, this has been debated to death. Do you count Bang! Bang! Vulture as a FPS? Or Westbang? How about things like Vector Tanks? iPod is syncing right now... I'll post opinions of Sandstorm as soon as I've played it.
Sandstorm is a great game, it's the first FPS to have great graphics and the right gameplay on the iPhone, it just needs more to the game itself (multiplayer and longer gameplay time, etc.), I think the FPS category will be a way lot better with Eliminate and Nova coming out.
Don't know if we want to get back on the "What's an FPS?" wagon -- we've been on it way too many times already. Let me see: I could use a good brawler like The Warriors (which is great on the PSP); a port of Silent Hill 2, the only game I miss after getting rid of my PS2; an excellent action/adventure game like Daxter or Beyond Good and Evil; a good Morrowind-style 3D RPG (actually, there's one coming soon, so never mind). And more important, something that I can't even imagine right now that will just blow my mind.
I'd love a pokemon game specifically for the iphone, graphically and control-wise. Backed with multiplayer trading and battling. That would be THE ultimate game.
Why is everybody saying that the iPhone needs games that it pretty much already has or game that are coming shortly? Why not games that it does not have like N+ or Monster Jam?
Well, mainly because the question was what we wanted to see on the iPhone, not what you wanted to see on the iPhone.
