Enigmo, which is still, IMHO, one of the best puzzle games on the App Store PapiJump+. DoodleJump may have taken the crown, but it's built on the foundation set by Papi, who, IMHO, is synonymous with iPhone/touch gaming. A lot of people only know the free PapiJump, but PapiJump+, which is a buck, added a lot of the stuff to the base game that people seem to think DoodleJump had first (enemies, moving platforms, falling platforms, etc.). BlueAttack!, which is still a helluva game. The Bobby Carrot series. Squareball. I'm one of those that can see why IGN chose to count this game as best last year. No, it isn't a Gameloft uber DS/PSP style effort, but, IMHO, the simplicity and addictive gameplay is what iPhone/touch gaming is all about. Spider: Bryce Manor - this, IMHO, though, was the best game last year. Nick Chase - if you don't have this hidden item game, get it. Very well done, and currently my fave. Super Monkey Ball - bought it for $10 early on in the App Store days. While some didn't dig it, I did, thought the controls were better than most stated, and it "sold" me on "high end" gaming on the platform. and the game I will absolutely never regret buying: Soul Trapper an audio adventure game, there is NOTHING like it in the App Store. Shame that it seems not too many people bought it, as stuff like this really fits the platform quite well. Try the free lite version if you haven't already.
There are 2 kinds of apps in the app store. The ones that are made for the iphone and the ones that feel like the iPhone was made for. Those are the ones I'll never regret buying but there's too many to list. Broken Sword, Flight Control, Doodle Jump (Papi was good too, but it was dethroned ) and Fieldrunners are just the few of many
Love your quote Deewin! Can I use it "There are 2 kinds of apps in the app store. The ones that are made for the iphone and the ones that feel like the iPhone was made for."
