I agree. Even if the fighting is Risk-like the strategy is fun. Also, i'm a big RoTK fan (story not game). I've played DW games though and they were fun. My list would be: Battle for Wesnoth Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Red Conquest Sword of Fargoal Labyrinth 2 Jet Car Stunts
i remember playing the NES version.. or at least, trying to play, i wasn't very good at it, but it still appealed to me because i could tell it was deep, like an RPG. Of course, i didn't own it, only rented it, so there was no manual to explain things for me.. Of course, now that im older and a strategy fan, ive been wanting to give it another shot, id been eyeing the PS2 games forever..
I have the earlier entries still. 10 is by far the most balanced version on the PS2. Be warned all are far more complex than 1 but if you like to think you won't be disappointed.
I was talking from my perspective.. i don't have them all yet, and i don't have a whole lot of $$$ to spare. Ill keep what you said in mind. I have no problem with complexity, my main issue in the past was understanding the abbreviated menus and what they did. I do like to think..
ElementalMonster TD, Peggle, Zombieville, Flick Fishing, Aw Craps, Beer Bounce, Bounce Bullet Pro, Montezuma, The Deep, almost all Donut and I-play games, Family Feud, MotionX Poker Quest. 90% of the games I buy nowadays I don't regret getting so there's just too many to list. The topic would have been more interesting if it were "what game(s) do you regret buying?"
For me it's probably these titles- Space Invader Infinity Gene Rogue Touch iDrop Dead Cavern Sword & Poker Canabalt Sword of Fargoal They all get regular plays- mainly because the replay value on all of them is pretty high- you're never getting the same experience twice. (Arguably Canabalt is the most basic of that, but I still love it for quick blasts). Chinatown Wars and Space Miner were top purchases as well, but I've already completed CW on the DS and PSP so it's not got as much play time this around, and I can't see myself going back to Space Miner, even if I did love the hell out of it the first play-through.
which brings up the topic of why this is in lounge, and not general discussion, with the other post..
Tower Madness! For me the one that I have poured the most time into was Tower Madness! Tower Madness is simply an amazing game, very well-balanced and just tons of fun. It will be a staple for me, especially since the dev is continuing to support the game even a year later. Other non-regrets include: Doodlejump Space Miner
I recently forgot why I hate you. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Mine are: Real Racing Spider Edge Isotope Hook Champ
Canabalt Hook Champ Kitten Cannon (yes indeed) Angry Birds Peggle VolleySlime (yes indeed) Wolfenstein 3D
