not sure if anyone else noticed this but the Sniper Armor has really cheap aquatics upgrade cost, something like 9credits, 13credits, etc...

its a nice bonus, although water is not a big percentage of the maps but it does make an impact when you can just run through water with no regard

    Armor

I'm just upgrading my standard armor. It's cheaper this way and it actually gets pretty good.

I'm level 17 now and I rarely die more than once or twice a game(although that doesn't guarantee a good score). I'm using the airborne armor and it's to the point that I'm almost impossible to catch compared to the others. I can now jump way over groups of people and get them from the other side without even needing to run around.

I now get excited when I see someone with tank armor because I know they can't stand a chance.(unless they're an incredible shot).

Just want to reiterate how great exoquatic is as an armor.

It has no weaknesses, improved targetting for more damage, optimal swim (which is useful on tank for getting powerups and of course on flood) and a secretly enhanced jump as well. I started a second account with sniper armor and can honestly say that exoquatic is better. It's just such a shame that people see it and think - o its a swimsuit and don't think about it holistically.

Same here. I'm level 10 and still using standard armor, and doing well most of the time.

I bought the other armor and am upgrading that too (just to get my armor up from light to basic and then even higher), though I'm starting to wonder why, because it'll still be inferior to standard, which started at basic.

Really? That is a valid point; and I admit I do dismiss it because I think it's a "swimsuit".

I might get another account and try that out for a change.

And I suspect it's only a matter of time until nogmoco figures out that they have a swim armor and lack a more water-oriented map.

I'm excited to see what new armors they bring though. I bet a lot of people would start groaning and want to change armors.

I'm level 15 and was using Infiltartor with a Plasma Canon until now. Now i'm thinking of going with Sentry as i've seen many people using that cloking abilty and it seems pretty hard to kill them. Does this armor have a special cloking abilty that you can keep on upgrading? Does this armor have a downside?

Don't get it. + 1 cloaking isn't worth your time and if you want the damage go for exoquatic or assault instead. I'm currently going for maxed out sniper cloaking and even that isn't much cloak. It won't be anywhere near as covered as if you pick up the cloaking field.

Unless ngmoco:) allows you to choose which map to play, the SWM bonus will be useless over half the time.

True. Though I find you can get the Zerk shield and powerups on tank much quicker and of course Flood is a good map for Exoquatic users.

The value of the Exoquatic armor is not in its water mobility but because it has no weaknesses and increased TS (damage) and jump. In any case, I find aquatics a more valuable trait than cloaking which doesn't do much at all.

Well I'm really the only one that uses the Aqua armor. I like the plasma cannon and auto rifle, but the choice is really yours. I think the weapons are actually quite balanced.

Well I think the point of the sniper armor is the ++ to targeting, whereas sentry is for the targeting as well as no -def.

Well I already bought it :p
I just had a game with a guy who was almost invisible! He was just level 16. Somebody in the thread earlier mentioned that he used a silver suit instead of the yellow which gave him more cloaking, that might have helped?

EDIT: Also I was wondering if the "Standard" shielding of different armors are the same?

Yeh I suppose. But Exoquatic is definitely better than Sentry.

Aqua because it doesn't detract from defense, first armor purchased, best when upgraded. Got it early and love it.

Using midnight and sniper, I noticed that with cloaking upgraded almost halfway (next upgrade at level 24), I only become slightly invisible while standing still. Moving, I'm completely opaque. Firing has no effect. When I die, my corpse is quite transparent, which gave me the impression that I was that transparent all the time, but that's not how it is.

I only hope that upgrading cloaking from "optimal" to whatever comes next makes a tremendous difference. Either way I'm loving the targeting upgrades and don't mind the -Def, which I've upgraded back to normal.
