Okay then, how about an experience you can share with us. Honestly, no one can prove god doesn't exist. But you can't prove he does. What science, logic, and common sense can disprove is nearly everything else in the bible. Was the Earth really created in 7 days? Was it really created a few thousand years ago? For every person Religion has 'saved' there are a thousand more it has killed.
Unless you created a new religion, "that guy" who got swallowed by a fish is Jonah. And the "other guy", he would be noah. "
Y'know, we really oughta discuss this at further length. You wanna come over to my house? We'll talk about it over tea. The Easter Bunny and Santa Clause will join us. Frodo might show up later, but he has to attend something about a ring. Things in the Shire... crazy.
I love how you cant come up with a good responce, so you turn to stupidity and arrogance as reply to my comment, which you have no real responce too.
There's nothing in the Bible about Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny, those are commercial made. Don't try that bullshit as a reason Christianity is wrong. I do remember reading something about Frodo tho...
k but who was that old guy that split a huge body of water in half to let people escape through again
I love how you cant come up with a good responce, so you turn to stupidity and arrogance as reply to his comment, which you have no real responce too.
Pretty much yeah, 'cause physics (and science) is absolutely remarkable. Study it, there are some insane things it can do, stuff you'd almost never believe possible, just because the laws of physics are so amazingly vast that our knowledge of it is basically grounded at nothing. Rarely a day goes by when humans don't discover something new about physics... now with a topic that astronomical, don't you think there's a good chance it could do fascinating things that seem nigh on impossible at first glance? On another level, and looking at it simply... physics is more or less controlling the entire universe right now. Stars are being created, black holes are throwing out fireballs, gravity is holding us onto the planet and throwing the whole thing around the sun. It's controlling solids, liquids, gases, planets, asteroids, nebulae, light... how can you look at what it's doing now and say it's not possible that it started it too? The power it holds is as big and impressive as the universe itself. To deny all of that and and say "Actually it was some big ol' omnipotent dude that no one's ever seen. Oh, and his son can turn water into wine and cure sick people with a touch" is about as sensible as me pulling a story out of my ass right now, writing it in a book and hoping it gets discovered in a thousand years time to start a new religion.
Who the hell do you think you are to insult Christianity? I dont know what the **** your reading, but get your god damn facts straight.
I really didn't want to get religious in this thread... but a lot of people don't seem to know the cold, hard facts. 1. There are over 4,000 prophecies that are in the Bible. All have come true except for the Rapture, which is yet to happen. 2. 400 alone were on Jesus' resurrection. You have King David writing the Psalms prophesying of Jesus' death and method of death almost 1,400 years before. 3. Onto the resurrection: there are over 500 witnesses that say they saw Jesus after his death. And you can't say that the disciples spread the rumor: they all died for their beliefs. Would you die by being crucified upside down or boiled in a vat of oil just for a lie? 4. The chances of just the resurrection prophecies coming to pass is as slim as stacking the whole state of Texas 2 feet high in dimes and coloring one red. Then you dive into the dimes and pick the red one. Onto the creation of the earth and intelligent design. 1. The earth has been placed in the perfect spot in the UNIVERSE for life. Anywhere even slightly off and water would not have been possible. 2. For 2 amino acids to come together in primordial ooze and create the correct sequence for a protein, the chances would be 1/10 to the fiftieth power. 20 amino acids are needed to create a protein, making the chances quite slim. 3. If the amino acids form in any other sequence, it produces a black tar that actually kills life. 4. Cells are so complex that they are very close to machines. They're almost like clockwork: they create energy, attack "bad" cells, clean out the body, create proteins, etc. etc. I hope I'm not imposing religion on anyone, but these are the cold hard facts accumulated through years of research.
It's stupid 'cuz it's obvious what Bats is referencing, but that's not the point of the post. It's mostly just a joke that nose-dived, to be honest.
Interesting, but you just dug your grave. Wait for the attack! People are going to come swarming in and start ripping your statement to shreds. That's why I think this thread should be locked. It's only going to lead to trouble. Like Politics.
