I hate how people assume they know all about God when they have no idea. I personally am a Christian, and people who dont know God (Atheists and such) have no right to say there ISNT a God, because you've never experienced his presence, because you dont believe and youve never gave Jesus a chance to work in your lives.

And this response isnt bashing any other religions, Just saying, if your atheist, do not bash christianity. There is an after life and it will be wonderfull.

I'm Catholic, but would you give "The Flying Banana Dinosaur" a chance to influence your life if I told you he had magic powers and created you? Exactly. You don't believe me, so why would you do it?

Hello buddy! I am a born again Christian and Jesus works miracles in my life everyday. I dont want to get all pastorish on you though, and you call yourself a catholic? Calling your God a ^ whatever that was. I understand through personal experiences that GOD IS REAL. Obviously you have not reached that moment yet (assuming your still catholic)

I didn't call God that, I'm just putting it in an example for you.

Athiests don't believe in God, and telling them about God would basically result in the same reaction I just got from you.

He was talking about (another) metaphorical God to point out that what you said lacks logic. Try answering the question instead of side-stepping it with more religious mumbo jumbo.

Well if you think its mumbo jumbo, Ok idgaf. I know what I believe and nothing can change that. And maybe if the question made sense I would have answered it. Put addressing God as a "flying banana dinosaur)is an insult to Most religions. Methaphorically or not.

If you won't even consider metaphorical questions then you're really afraid to use your mind at all. Sounds like your religious belief is based on fear. It shouldn't matter what you believe, you're allowed to consider other possibilities for the sake of conversation/argument/enlightenment. It's not offensive at all.

Technically, it's a "Flying Banana Dinosaur," but whatev's. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't mind my future kid using that example to explain the concepts of "parents" to his orphan friends, so I doubt God would either.

Hell, if he was anything like me, he'd think it's a pretty badass compliment

Its not based on fear at all, not even in the slightest sense. But God does judge both the living and the dead, so dont you think that demands a little respect and a little fear? But it doesnt matter, theres no point in trying to persuade you. You have your beliefs and I have mine, lets just leave it at that ok? People constantly label Christainity as a trap, once again, those who haven't experienced it, cannot relate and as a way to escape they're fear, they come up with excuses scientifically and theoretically as to where we came from that lack any real proof and logical sense.

With all due respect, the scientific "excuses" are based entirely on proof and logic. I fail to see how "a magic wizard did it" makes more sense than the concept of evolution, for which we can visibly see more and more evidence for on a day-to-day basis.

...and no offense, but I find it odd how religious people like to claim that an atheist/agnostic viewpoint makes no sense when their proof towards everything is "a book of stories told me", or "a dude in a church told me" or "my parents told me", and not only that, but everything they've been told completely and utterly defies everything they know about the world through their own experience up until that point.

Do you have any proof that he doesn't? Its something you have to believe in and go through on your own. And its not like I can transfer my beliefs and experiences into you, and that my friend, is the only proof I will ever need.

I don't understand why people seem to think God looks like us or made us in his image. That's stupid. God can be anything, a black slate, a cube, Dust...

We think too highly of ourselves. SOMETHING had to have created life, and that something is the God I believe in.

I have as much proof of God's non-existence as I do this guy's:

Ergo, with logic I can determine that either one is just as likely as the other.

Ok explain to me how this oh so intricate and remarkable universe came into being? You think the entire universe was squashed up into the size of an atom, and out of nowhere exploded, exponentially expanding and creating everything on its own? The only logical explanation (and one that more and more scientists are grasping and understanding by the moment) is that there is an intelligent creator that created the cosmos. And, it is beyond our understanding and abiltity to comprehend how it happened. Hence INTELLIGENT creator.

Even though that example is SEVERELY flawed, I see where you were going with it.
