You can't help it; religion, death, the Universe, politics and life are all deeply connected. You can't have one without the others.

I don't see how asking people if they're 12 is insulting, all I did was ask a simple question.

And if you read my posts, I only bashed people who insulted or bashed religion. Someone's religion is something you never mess with or insult, even if you don't agree with it.

I know, I knew it was going to happen.
But before it all started, there was some good on-topic discussion. It would be nice just to have even a page or two more before people start arguing over religion again.

You know if the government found out, your friends uncle could spend life in prison or worse. All C.I.A agents have a code of silence.

    Im not going to sleep

By "experimental weapons" he means "fake banana bombs that make your head explode when you look at it."

Yeah I guess. I don't know where the rumor of aliens at area 51 came from but I guess it got us all worked up for nothing...

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. If a religion is inane, stupid, or really far out, you have the right to question it. What happens is that those questions are seen by the people who are religious as insults.

If a religion tells you to sacrifice someone once a year, should you still not insult that person's beliefs? (I'm not talking about any specific religion BTW).

He's retired and I guess it is illegal to say that kind of classified info but I just wanted to know if aliens were there or not

I attacked Machida because he stated atheists had no idea what they were talking about.

Do you know the various details of Christianity, the same religion you're bashing? That's what he meant.

Exactly. Generally I don't agree with the way religion influences society, meddles with politics, causes wars, can be racist/sexist/homophobic, has stupid laws, the list goes on.
I have plenty of reasons to hate religion, and I will bash it as much as I like.
People need to stop being offended when someone bashes their religion. I hate religion, NOT religious people (although I hate some religious people).
Religious people bash atheists and our "beliefs" all the time. Anyone who takes their religion so seriously and constantly needs to defend it is obviously insecure and confused.

People believe God created them. When you bash religion in front of a religious person, you're basically insulting them, what they stand for, their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, they're entire life.

Now tell me you wouldn't be offended if I bashed all that? I'm not saying you can't do it, just don't do it to a person who cares.

It's just common human decency really.

This is a terrible thread. Christians pretending to feel persecuted is a little sickening.

I don't know of any modern religions that sacrifice people, it was an example.

And how is bashing atheism (i'm not an atheist by the way, i'm agnostic) different from bashing religion?

It's not. Athiesm is basically a religion. It explains how we are alive, how to live one's life and what happens after we die.
