I've just been think about this recently. I'm an Atheist, so I believe that our bodies just decompose into the ground and nothing happens to our "soul" - we just die and nothing happens ever again. But a part of me wants to believe in reincarnation (without the reaching enlightenment BS). Even though I despise religion on the whole, reincarnation makes sense. When we die, our "souls" could be cleaned of all memory and given to new life. When you think about nature and the way this planet works, everything is recycled, reused and nothing is created from scratch (correct me if I'm wrong). Could our souls be recycled? How can they be made from scratch? Reincarnation may seem absurd to some people, but it can almost be justified by thinking about how amazing and unique nature it and still much of nature and processes in the universe are still unknown. But I still mainly believe that nothing happens after we die, although reincarnation does make sense to me and could be a possibility. A nice way to look at death is to think about the time before you were born. And thinking about this special period of time makes me believe more in reincarnation.
I believe in reincarnation. It makes sense (probably because I don't just want to die and nothing happen)
Hopefully it won't. Just to remind everyone, this thread is for discussing what happens after you die and NOT religion. Don't you even have the slightest idea of what happens?
That's essentially what I believe-- the scientific life process of reincarnation/the transformation of energy and matter. Undecided about anything regarding the soul or everlasting life.
Please don't call things like this Bullshit. It's offensive. I don't believe in it, but follow something similar.
Awesome, I'm going to hell Only joking I'm not really going to hell, because I don't believe in Religion! I have a feeling that you religious people will be very disappointed when you die . But believe what you want to believe, that's fine. I'm alright with religious people as long as they just keep their religion to themselves.
Well sorry if I offended you, but that's my opinion, my belief. I don't hate religious people, I hate religion. And many religious practices, rules etc offend me as a human being a LOT more than anyone would be offended by me calling a part of a belief BS.
What LBG said. You're gone, you rot, game over. The only "evidence" of anything else is word of mouth from person to person, and as a general rule, people are full of crap. I'm not aiming this at any relgion or belief in particular, but I wouldn't trust the human race to wipe my ass, let alone listen to what they tell me about the afterlife.
Burying women up to their neck and throwing stones at their head until they die, just for committing adultery is pretty "strong". But yeah, whatever. Don't worry about it (I just like to rant on about religion). No hassle caused
