Then let's take into the multiverse theory, where every single action creates infinite tangents creating an infinite amount of different universes.

So... huge galaxies, infinite world, infinite number of worlds.

I'm personally an agnostic. I won't believe anything until Jesus comes down riding on a freakin' golden pony in a beam of light and proclaims that he's the son of god. Then I'll point out that god was sexist. And there will be riots. And God will smite all. Gah, I'm tired and being really random.

Talk about getting your facts twisted around. I get in a heated debate every time someone expresses their (learn to spell) opinion?? Are you oblivious to the fact that it's those fanboys who chase my posts around who attack my opinions from all angles the ones who start the heated debate? Go and fetch me any of my posts where I actually started the heated debate.

@ OP, yes this forum is too immature for a topic as sensitive as this one.

I'll watch this later when the 6th dimension doesn't make me wanna stab a small animal with a very large toothpick.

Dangit, Midian, I promised myself I wasn't going to think philosophically today. Now I'm stuck thinking about infinity within points and different infinities based on different beginnings and how those all somehow connect using a line, which doesn't exist.

You're welcome! It says at the end it's not a widely accepted possibility in string theory, but it's weird how it kinda makes you think it's possible... even though you still can't conceive of such a thing being real.

BTW that's just chapter 1 in the book, I don't dare try and read the rest :p

It seems from that video it's possible to devise a way to travel back in time and to alternative realities. I'm going to ponder this for a few weeks and explore einstein's theory on wormholes.

That's going to be my summer reading

...or is it? If those 2D flatlanders could never see into the 3rd dimension, how would they know what to do in order to jump from one point to another?

What I'm getting from that is... for that ant on the newspaper to move through space to another point, it had to be manipulated by someone in the 3rd dimension (i.e. folding the newspaper). So maybe if we wanted to do the same and jump through time and space, it'd have to be caused by an event/entity in a higher dimension than ours since we're unable to see into them to do it ourselves.

Yeah... I'm going to bed before I die.

But nothing can manipulate the 3rd dimension since there's nothing there? it's just a 1 dimensional line.

Wait but it cant be a 1D line, thats in a previous dimension. So it's a line based on time. Time controls us. Wow that actually makes sense. So in order to time travel we need to be on the fifth dimension, to control the fourth dimension, in order to control the 3rd dimension. But then...actually I need to rewatch the 5th dimension

So, we're basically being manhandled by someone in the fourth dimension.

And now I wonder: Who's in the tenth?

See, now we could be led in a religious direction.

Good point. I don't think any religious groups would quite see it the same way though :p

Besides, if we regarded beings in higher dimensions to be Gods, we'd be Gods ourselves to all the little 2D people.

Most people wouldn't have the ability to comprehend what all the dimensions are and how they connect. I sure know I don't have it down.

I'm sure no one 'has it down' They can memorize it, but that doesn't mean they understand the implications nor the dimensions themselves.

You've got a choice, either become a philosopher or an asylum patient.

LMAO. Philosopher sounds good to me. But I may have to watch "Shutter Island" before I decide.
