Funny how no actual religion talk has gone on yet. But like many mentioned, only few can handle such discussion without A. Starting a flame war B. Calling Everyone Stupid C. Peeing their pants D. Saying how great a level design Metroid has.
Haha, I'm still waiting for a response from that guy on my counter-argument. Sheesh, two religion-oriented threads in the Lounge in two days. You'd think it was some kind of sign or something.
To test the waters... religion is all inside your head, meaning: it's what you want it to be. It does help certain people do good things. But on the flip side, good people do bad things in the name of religion. Usually these people are misguided and lied to by their 'leaders'.... Anyone wanna flame?
Personally, I am a Christian. 99% of you know the general details of it so im not going to go into it.
I'll say it, I'm a christian, however not one of the radical ones who believes that the earth is 6,000 years old, the earth is flat and we coexisted with dinosaurs, personally, I believe that the universe was created by god in the form of the big bang and that over time we evolved in the ways that he wanted us to. The chances of life itself without divine intervention is practically impossible, Stephen Hawking said that at the time of the big bang, if conditions were even a trillionth(I think) part per million different than it was in either way, life would never have been possible.
I have more than a pair. Anyways, that shit aside, I don't believe in religion. I just believe there's SOME type of god up there.
There's a term for that... Honestly the only reason I don't really believe in religion is because of the shit people do for it (History lesson anyone?) But I've said too much. SarcasticGamer is online and he's already flamed me for being in the atheist group
That's actually exactly what I believe. Everything in our world is way too damn complicated to have happened coincedentally. Something made it happen.
But space is infinite. Therefore there is infinite possibilities of the chance of life to exist. Which means we are here because of the infinite chance. That argument can be used on both sides...
