well i believe earth was made scientifically and so were humans, and we evolved into what we are today, etc.

BUT, my parents are 'making me get confirmed' but i strongly disagree with 'my religion'

Anyone remember these movie quotes!? :D

    Willie: Is daddy home?
Kid: He's on an adventure, exploring the mountains. He's been gone a long time.
Willie: Exploring mountains, huh? How long is he gonna be gone?
    Kid: Until next year.
    Willie: Yeah? What about mommy?
Kid: She lives in God's house; with Jesus and Mary and the ghost and the long eared donkey and the talking walnut.

im an athiest. not only do many of the stories in the bible not coincide to information we have today. alot of the stories were taken from other stories from other popular religions and tales at the time. and there is also the fact that the majority of the "demon possessed" people were most likeley inflicted with schizophrenia or epilepsy or something similar. and theres also the fact that there is NO evidence of jesus preforming miracles or that he was a magical being other than the bible (dont bring up josephus because it has been discovered that his supposed writings about jesus were actually added in a couple hundred years later to his writings when they were going to republish it) and plus the bible is INCREDIBLY homophobic and unaccepting of people even though he claims to love all. but if he loves everyone why would he condemn a good person to a unimaginable and eternal hell because of their sexual preferences. and also the god in the old testament appears to be a completely different god in the new testament. and also no evidence of dinosaurs in the bible.

However, those animals were (theoretically) around during the Ice Age, after the dinosaurs became extinct.

To counter the blasphemous hate that spills from the mouths of the godless infidels who infest this fine forum, I shall post some love from the scriptures!

"Then God said, 'Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.'"
    -- Genesis 22:2

"'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
    -- Leviticus 20:13

"From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!" He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths."
    -- II Kings 2:23-24

You've said some pretty ridiculous things in the past, so I can't tell if you're joking or not.

    Either way, I laughed.

For someone who bristles at intolerance, you have remarkably little for any other view. You must look into your own heart before you judge others.

This is why people shouldn't compare their little men watching from the sky.

First, I am no christian. I find your absolutism sad. You are doing the very thing you fault Christians for. Science can not explain everything. That would seem to leave room for belief. Second, this is not the first time in history man has had this debate. Cicero alludes to the Epicurean nature of the ancient Rome he inhabited. Science is the first place I look for answers. What's left is philosophy. That includes religion.
