Not sure if these are what you're looking for but I consider them game books. Joe Dever's Lone Wolf Sorcery! Sorcery 2! 80 Days Device 6 An Assassin in Orlandes
I guess this is not purely a gamebook game, but it does feel like one a lot: King of Dragon Pass. You get lots of text with story and then have to make important dwcisions about what just happened.
As Exact-Psience said this is a great list. I would add the Fighting Fantasy books to this of which there a a few now. The only problem with Lone Wolf and the Sorcery! books are that they are such good conversions , with totally new presentation they make the 'old' Fighting Fantasy books look a bit primitive now (i still love them though)!
King of dragons pass is complicated as shiz. It's not a bad game... But I personally just havnt had the time to get invested. If your into that though, definintly try it or read a review.
Overlive Most of the Tin Man Games game books, not just the Fighting Fantasy series King of Dragon Pass Sorcery! Lone Wolf Fabled Lands 2 Gold edition
Sorcery! books are really well done and evolve the genre while remaining faithful to the original material, the Fighting Fantasy books are fine, but largely for nostalgia reasons, depending on title they can suffer the dead end syndrome. The Lone Wolf books I haven't enjoyed, I admire them for trying something different and presentation is fantastic, but things feel a bit linear (at least going off the first one). This is Not a Test is a post apocalyptic pick a path comic, it's very unforgiving but again tries something different. Not iOS specific but if you can track down the Dice Man comics and have ever heard of the 2000AD comics, you may like for quick bites.
Hi all. Just stumbled on this thread and thought you might be interested to see our upcoming gamebook, Appointment with F.E.A.R., which is choice-based interactive comic! Out on Aug 27th priced $2.99 on iOS. http://fightingfantasyapps.com/books/appointment-with-f-e-a-r/
Very much aware, very much have been anticipating for what seems a long while now and very much am going to buy release day! Now go get some rights to Freeway Warriors, Grail Quest, Knightmare and some other good game book series so I can relive my younger years through the sorcery of technology!
I'm a married straight man mind you... But I think I may love you! # Now that I am content in knowing the release date of Agents of F.E.A.R. I now feel like the arduous waiting begins again knowing that those two series are now in the works! And let me tell you, I always liked the Fightting Fantasy books, but I LOVE the Grail Quest series and Frreway Warrior series!
Yeah great news Edit: I didn't realise Starship Traveller had been released, looks fantastic with the new original artwork. Better had hit the buy button.
I may not get agreement on this, but I would say Layton Brothers and the Phoenix Wright games could count as gamebooks.
