But I’m thinking it’s one of those games that’s either going to be really good or really bad. I’m going to give it a shot. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 707 562 93 #3 elcrazy, Mar 6, 2024 Agreed. Looks interesting. But these can be hit or miss. Looks great. But all about how these play. Frame rate, controls, movement, and more play such a huge roll here. Lots of games wanna be Cuphead but very few succeed. I want to try it but for this one I’m gonna wait for some impressions. Still playing lots of Flying Tanks anyways. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #4 anthony78, Mar 6, 2024 Last edited: Mar 6, 2024 Played some and it’s pretty cool and has a lot of little fun surprises that are probably best not spoiled. It’s sort of got relative touch but your ship always falls back closer to your finger. Still controls fairly well. All that said it probably could have used a bit more time in the oven. There are no other options for controls. The gameplay goes straight into the action with no background or story despite saying things like “Act One”. The splash page doesn’t even say the name of the game. Just “Press to Begin” and it starts right away. I do like it overall and will be curious to make if further to see what other fun ideas it throws at you. Levels themselves are randomized, which is good because it’s pretty difficult but you can still see more of what the game offers. It’s a weird game in a good way. Anotherkellydown likes this. Very average. Screens are extremely busy making it difficult to differentiate hazards from backgrounds. The real issue I have is that the ship stays right with your finger (no relative touch - or any control options). Also there is a local high score (your best) but no leaderboard of any kind. Since it was only $3 I’m not too disappointed. I would not recommend it though. Edit: it’s not that bad. Yes, I’d like a relative touch option and wish you could go further than half way across the screen, but after a few more games it’s kinda growing on me. Probably only for diehard shmup fans though. Edit 2: to set the record straight once and for all; there is a relative touch setting. You just have to tap the icon in the upper right, then tap the icon with the thumb and the number 1. The 1 will then change to a 2. My high score is 12,910 so far. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
