These really don't have any gameplay involved whatsoever, but can be okay time wasters if you're a fan of whatever skin they use. I couldn't make it more than 20 minutes into this one despite enjoying the theme. You can only do so many incremental time management apps at a time. It's a lawsuit because Bethesda says this company and WB used assets from Fallout Shelter to build this game. It is newsworthy. And yet, not mentioned. I believe the code they used was in fact created by their employees, since they were commissioned to work on the mobile version of Fallout Shelter by Bethesda. But you can't bring that code over to make your own copy cat game. This is actually an element to the PUBG lawsuit that everybody is simplifying as "Bluehole wants to own all things Battle Royale" which isn't true, but makes for a good headline. That lawsuit is more about the relationship between Epic and Bluehole, and Epic's involvement with helping the development of PUBG prior to adding the Battle Royale mode to their, at the time, failing game Fortnite on the same engine. Not just the frying pans. That tangent aside, this Westworld lawsuit personally hurts because Behaviour isn't the largest studio, and they actively work on the game Dead By Daylight which is a very big deal to me. They're also trying to push out another asymmetrical multiplayer game called Deathgarden which has been decent in the beta thus far. They're already spread thin, and I hope this doesn't eliminate key personnel or damage the studio to a degree that actively affects these two aforementioned games. Wrath Well-Known Member May 26, 2011 480 9 18 Seattle #13 Wrath, Jun 22, 2018 That lawsuit sure didn't take long to happen - didn't this game just get released? I only played Fallout Shelter just a little bit and did notice a part of Westworld reminded me of it (how the view of the underground rooms tilt noticeably when you scroll vertically) but I didn't realize they might be even more similar. That being said, I like this Westworld game - it's easier for me to figure stuff out than managing Fallout Shelter, though I wouldn't say it's quite as easy as putting square pegs into square holes. Lots of stuff to manage and unlock and fits into my 5-min or less short bursts of gampeplay preferred style of mobile gaming and I might even be spending more time than that on it - and so far no pay wall, even without spending any money on it The cartoonish style graphics don't really help make me think of the actual Westworld show all that much, however, despite the storylines that pop up, but not bad. Just seems like every game I try out lately has some feature of leveling up characters or something, oddly enough, and who knows, maybe in this one I'll be able to figure out how to get some 5-star levels characters in a game finally.... Made level 8 and the biggest problem is having the right hosts. I am still not sure I should have unlocked that 2nd location. Sure, it gave me the host with a skill set I needed, but no way to construct more of that host. I'm not sure I really need more gambler hosts or failed jail break hosts. The event tab though is a hot mess. Sure, the groupings make sense, but couldn't they have come up with something a little easier that a list of of lists? Maybe I need to charge my iPad a bit longer at night, but this game took 1/2 of my battery life getting to level 8. Not sure if this is just my iPad's age and that I was silly enough to upgrade to 11.3 or the game is just abnormally power hungry. *Edit* Preemptively cried paywall. Am level 21 now and still not forced to buy any premium hosts to make progress in the game. Ironically, upgrading the controller's room is gating unlocking more content than not buying premium hosts. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,099 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #16 hellscaretaker, Jun 25, 2018 I would tend to disagree on that, its more you have to really grind to get host costs from the guests. wilyone likes this. wilyone Active Member Nov 7, 2012 28 0 1 #17 wilyone, Jun 25, 2018 I can agree with your assessment. I unwisely played a bit more and at level 11, am not forced to buy any IAP yet. I have 10 generic host codes and 3 1* host codes to generate more hosts. I only have 4k coins though. Merging 2 1* hosts costs 1.6k. I'm not quite sure what is worth upgrading to 2* right now. I've got a 2* Emmet and a 2* Carmen from merging. That was worthwhile. The others? I'm a little cautious about blindly merging due to cost. Upgrading the buildings though do not seem to be a bad idea as long as you have 1 host that can cover the potential role. Upgrading the bank to lvl 3 since I have 1 host with that gun role seems like an okay thing to do. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,099 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #18 hellscaretaker, Jun 26, 2018 Every time you do upgrade a building and there is a new emote example you need sidekick the game will give you a host with sidekick as guarantee creation. When it comes to upgrading hosts, myself personally have upgrade the level 1 hosts as they have maxed out. I not used the EXP hosts as i think they will be usefully later on when you need to fast upgrade some hosts so you can use them in the rebuilds. I normally used level 1 hosts that current have skills that i have no use for currently. I'm at level 12 now and i'm wondering when does the powering up of the skills of the hosts come into play, ie instead of level 1 card skill you going to need level 2. hellscaretaker Well-Known Member May 27, 2012 1,099 6 38 Im a youtube gamer/streamer https://www.youtube.com/user/touchgameplay #19 hellscaretaker, Jun 26, 2018 Its not your ipad the game really does eat up a lot of battery which is a surprise due to not much happening on the screen at any given time LunacyBlinks New Member Nov 18, 2017 2 0 1 #20 LunacyBlinks, Jun 26, 2018 I think people get paywall confused with just being bored of a game. I’m level 20 with 30k coin and haven’t spent a dime. I’m not sure where this paywall is that you guys are talking about but I can see that you are getting bored of the game. So just say that instead. As for hosts not all of them need to be upgraded. And not all are useful. Once you get a handful of different hosts getting coins becomes easy. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
