wait, so are you agreeing with Gab that an iOS dev is being dishonest, unscrupulous, manipulative, greedy & evil (all Gab's words. Not mine) just coz they decided to do separate iphone/ipad versions instead of making it universal? I've never said that Gab's wish to have universal app is wrong/ridiculous. I love when I get universal apps for all the same reasons Gab argued for here. But you cant demand it. Its not your right to get universal/cheap apps. All I did was tell him that its not always the most practical option to have a universal version for devs. It doesnt make them greedy/evil just coz they released it as 2 separate versions. But he refuses to argue with facts (just look at the prices of the iPhone and iPad games in the top charts for example) for some reason. If a dev gives away an awesome game in a universal build for just a few bucks, its great news for all of us. Grab it asap. But to demand that all games should be universal and cheap when you dont have the slightest idea of how things work in appstore is just plain ridiculous. What real experience you have in Appstore business that makes your opinion better than the devs themselves? Lemme make something very clear to gabrien. Devs in appstore are here for business and not charity. If something doesnt make sense financially, they wont do it. There may be some devs in appstore who might fit Gab's description. Like what Glu did with gun bros recently cant be explained with anything else but greed. But a dev who's selling his app for 2 bucks on ipad and 99cents on iPhone does NOT even come close. I'll never get why people spend so much time and energy discussing such pointless things. Buy it if it looks like worth your money/time. Skip it and pick something else (from a pool of 1000s of good cheap and universal games) if its not. How hard is that? When will you stop being clueless Gabrien? Just saw your posts in the Imangi thread and there is no one except you who had played the game and had an issue with the way IAPs were handled in there. I still havent got the game so not gonna claim that you are wrong (yet) but after reading the FP review along with other gamer's impressions, I find it really strange how you had to be the only person who thought the game was heavily balanced towards IAP. I intend to get the game soon and if it isnt as bad as you claimed there, please dont be surprised when those posts end up being deleted or show up in this thread. i dont know what's wrong with them but I can tell you why they arent standing up. After reading alot of these posts I agree more with INSM than I do Gabrien. Developers dont have to make something universal just because they have one consumer that is boycotting their game due to a lack of it. Theyre not just going to give every little thing you ask for to you in an update or something because they couldnt care less what you think! Theyre making way more money with 2 version than they could ever hope to dream of with one and who in their right mind would change that.....No one. Maybe INSM misquoted you or maybe he didnt but does it really matter in the scheme of things?
This point alone I want to answer. Words matter to me a fair bit. Maybe not a whole lot "in the grand scheme of things," but human beings rarely compare every event to the great scheme of things. We are emotional. We react to events around us at the time. Even now, right above your post, he continues to misquote me literally insisting that they are "my words." I'll tell you what: let him dig up the post where I used the word "evil" to describe a developer. If anyone can do it, he can. If it happened. Let him do that, and I'll admit I've been overreacting and that the intensity with which I've voiced my views was misplaced and out of line. And that will be the end of it. If he can't do it, do you suppose he will be able to make a similar admission of his own? Let's see.

Surprise Surprise. I tried temple runner and Gabrien's comment about IAP in the game were as baseless as his accusations of iOS devs being greedy for not offering Universal builds. If I didnt know Gabrien any better, his comments could have easily swayed me off buying that game. And what a miss it'd have been for me. Please keep your assumptions and opinions to yourself only Gabrien. Once again, for your sake only. I cant police the forums 24x7 and try all the games you left impressions for just to make sure you're not posting false info again. Post as much crap as you want to in this thread. I dont give a damn. Just leave the release threads alone.
well yeah... back when whoever it was posted about not making a universal build because of the touch screen and having to re-map everything... I thought we were getting back on track around those posts... but I guess I was mistaken? =oP
Eh my impression of the thread is that is it on track one page at a time! Kind of by design really. The subject at the moment is really the cast offs from the gripe at the moment. That's kind of what makes it so fun for me (at least) to read! Like getting lost in the woods - you never know what turn it might take!
It's a lot better than the other trash can thread at least. Half of the posts in there contain pictures of cats.
Internet curse. Can only be fight by Orly?-Owls. I like them, at least. I agree with INSM, if not in details, but in the whole. Dev's life on the App Store isn't the easiest. It's not like the money-printing machine Steam. Hard fight because of hard and countless competition. Why make the devs life harder as it already is? And in the same time stupid statements, how much one loves it to support indie devs. This doesn't only apply to Gabrien. In my reviews and impressions I always try to point out the best aspects of a game and talk about the flaws honestly, but with positive criticism. I also said when I don't liked it. But I never was so unfair to tear a good game down because of one or two flaws. Especially not such minor things. Gabrien said something like 'words have great matter for him'. But is he aware that the SAME applies for his words? I guess not. And there's the point: hundreds, if not thousands read your words. And if at least a handful of them is heeding your words... well, you get the idea. Words have weight on touchArcade. Using them unthoughtful is, in my opinion, unfair. Again, if words matter to you a fair bit, why are you using them in such a disrespectful and hurting way yourself? You are making the mistake not to think about your words consequences. And I'm not saying not to say the truth. But the truth can be told in different and better ways than that. At least if you care. But you are the bully. Because you know that devs can't - without getting in trouble - fight back. Is that your way to polish up your self esteem? I can only assume that you never have thought about it this way. PS: mods are no stupic scripts like in Tron. They have their own opinions. And it is strange to accuse them of following the rules.
Another note on the topic: I personally prefer separate app versions. I am only using an iPhone and don't plan to buy an iPad. I don't want to fill my memory with HD graphics which are useless to me. So two versions are fine for me. Maybe the devs can make an iPhone and an universal version and charge the second one 50-70% higher (as happened a few times lately), but in the end, that's not mine to decide.
