Spoken like a true 15 year-old consumer with a bloated sense of self-entitlement: always wanting more while paying less.

I'm sorrry, but $16usd is too much for a port of a game that came out years ago. Sure the quality looks fantastic and I'm sure it's a great game, but this is too much. Gameloft, EA, Chair and Capcom all have managed to make PLENTY of money AND make amazing, console quality games that cost around $8-10.
I'm unemployed anyway, so paying $16 for a 20 year old game would be irresponsible, but even if I had a job, I'd still think twice about buying this.

Haha, I remember you and our little off-the-forum, street fight a while back. I will never expect you to sympathize with my price-point principles based on the sole fact that I really pissed you off a long, long, long time ago. Despite our social differences, I will politely ask you to refrain from any prejudices you may have placed upon me, or personal vendettas that might be festering in your mind, and to please be gentle with my posts. I personally believe they are brilliant, and would not like to have them pulled over "personal" reasons. What do you say "chum."

Owned. This guy is proving nothing other than his view on the value of games is completely twisted. The sad fact is with the App Store the way it is, more and more kids growing up these days are going to come to the same conslusions.

Pretty sure he says u mad.

No, I want to see improvement in gaming while keeping the price point the same, NOT LOWER. Competition for our dollar through graphics improvement, gameplay, and concepts drives games to improve. Not demand for higher prices on old games with the promise of better gaming in the future.

Hey useless! You can't assume that everyone who doesn't see the value in a $900 Ducati leather jacket is $15 years old. Your stereo-type of adolescent human behavior is muddled. All consumers ask is for justification of higher prices other than GREED. Art is only as valuable as its seeker is willing to pay. I would like to pay the same and get the same, or pay more and get more.
You suggested that this should have been the pricing a long time ago.

Thank God for Steve Jobs and his incredible team of business gurus, insisting that iTunes songs stay at $0.99 for nearly 8 years, until the music industry insisted on it being higher. If you were to run the show, it would be the largest disaster the planet has ever seen. Please, get into politics, where your arrogant/stereotypical attitude will be revered.

    What the... ?

Boy, I've been killing my social life for more than 20 monthes, working 7 spare hours a day on top of my dayjob to bring the best possible quality to my game.

I think you didn't chose the right person to illustrate your argument.

Countering assumptions with even more assumptions is an excellent strategy for productive arguments.

I've yet to see anyone challenge my long explanation earlier in this thread. I even made it clear to provide examples that may justify your opposition.

Instead I get the same mindless crap. A short, not even thought out, response that involves a derogatory and unrelated insult. Even after I stated to please explain the opposition, no one can, or will. This is almost as bad as Windows vs. MAC where Windows users never point out exactly how its better, but just insist that it is. Perhaps you are not defending high prices. Rather this is a psychological issue in which you are defending your "fan-created" impulse purchase by justifying that the high price is worth the value (to you) and that others that don't see the value are insane. I'm told everyday that I'm crazy for having an iphone4 instead of an HTC. Yet no-one explains why, other than the same phrases used in the marketing campaign.

Did any of you get a degree in college? Doesn't anyone use valid points and reasoning other than HODAPPS, "u mad". Is this the American way? - to argue with reason, and not provide any solution or explanation for you reasoning by replying with such little thought.

For those of you who game more than you read, please read it twice and point out specifics that are flawed with my premonition of future, app-pricing abuse. Your writing is a direct reflection of your critical thinking skills. When responding with empty comments, it implies you have an empty brain.

    Where's the next "empty-head".

Personally, I'm not going to argue with this price, but I will choose not to buy it because I don't think I have time to play a long RPG on the iPhone anyway.

That's the only reason it wouldn't be good value though - because you won't get the value out of it due to your own reasons.

If you love FF and WILL play it thoroughly on your iPhone then you should go for it because I'm sure it will not disappoint.

    Dear "u mad", self-entitled, pseudo-intellectual sycophant:

The fact of the matter is, the iDevice app market is already incredibly underpriced, even compared to other digital distributors such as Steam.

The fact is, the majority of Appstore devs are barely squeezing out a profit with their games, even if they do make awesome games-- in part because of this bloated, self-entitled market of low prices.

The fact is, because the market is so biased towards incredibly low, almost unsustainable business models of price, that many larger developers have avoided the market entirely or only barely poked into it with crappy remakes or ports (see: Capcom). Ask any indie dev on these forums how much money they have actually made, even with a big hit like Minigore or Super QuickHook, and they will tell you that it's barely enough for a comfortable living. The fact is that less than 0.1% of the devs out there are buying fancy cars and mansions off of their app profits, and if we want our indie devs (and major devs) to succeed and make awesome games for us, we have to pay more.

The fact is, if we as consumers ever want the Appstore market to expand into serious gaming territory with long, satisfying game experiences, that we are going to have to pay higher prices. And, further, we shouldn't even be complaining right now because we are already getting much more than we pay for. SquareEnix and other devs with large games (such as Capcom, who distributed PuzzleQuest 2) are still giving the App market a discount compared to others.

So yes, I can definitely use rational and logical arguments. But you seem to be under the impression that you know everything there is about the market, and that every developer is somehow out to "get you" or is an evil RAH RAH RAH POLITICIAN.

    Good day,
Consumer who actually cares about good games

No I'm just a 4.0 student with exceptional critical thinking skills. I've aced every paper I've written with praise from professors on my meticulous analysis of many topics. You??????????, probably the opposite. If critical analysis is your interpretation of dementia, God help us all.

BTW, I picture you in my head as an anal plug. You've spent so much time up there that you might as well have taken a "shat" on your keyboard rather than respond with this unintelligent muck. Are all you yanks as stupid as the rest of the world says you are.

It's a forum, not a research paper. Once again, another American challenges my integrity by responding with nothing of substance. I'm glad you found one flaw (intentional).

SkyMuffin, I don't really need to criticize you. Your mundane and non-comical responses do it for me. Why don't you read my post and respond. You have turned a valid argument, with reasonable concerns into a "your crazy" "your stupid" conflict of personalities. Just read my original concern and perhaps your next response won't sound like it was inspired by the stench of your own arse.

If you can't answer with the slightest bit of intelligence, then I'll be forced to stop sending your mother child-support payments, and then you'll have no games to play. =P
