We're mad as hell about iOS games that cost money, have ads, and/or any IAP at all.

I will send you a happy hanukah card or an xmas I got no problem with that. In the meantime how bout adding some game content to Canabalt. If it took freedog to make you appear in the forums again then I must be a hero, its only something everyone else has been trying to do for over a month.

I thought maybe AppShopper would have a way to list only $2.99 games or something. I didn't wanna see the reviews or ratings.

I just snorted so hard a bit of pasta went up into my nasal passage. That one sentence sums up just how important this topic really is.

seriously though, when can we finally get some content? was it not mentioned in the original thread that there would be updates? i'm not asking for much here, just something to differentiate it from the flash version.

Freedog, maybe your $9 chips come in a small package but taste quite unique.
So some users will buy them to experience their fantastic flavor, while others won't because they want more content. Everyone in the chips store is happy and either way, there is not much to whine about.

I do realize that comparing a bag of overpriced chips and an overpriced iphone game isnt really fair. After all a bag of chips takes more than 30 seconds to eat, and it only takes about 30 seconds of playing Canabalt to see everything the game has to offer.

Sorry hope my constructive criticism of the lack of content isnt taken to sensitively.

there is something to be said about a 2.99 game in the app store that is entirely incapable of having a lite version, as the lite version would be the entire game.

i bought the app because i knew it would be successful and for some reason i thought this would lead to quicker updates combined with it being such a simplistic game. unfortunately i was wrong. still, it's never too late to give your fans that have financially supported you a bone.

Yeah, and here it is: it'd make the best damn lite on the entire App Store :)

I bought it and had some fun with it. The price for me would be more worth it if I knew they were still going to add leader boards and stuff. I wouldn't really recommend buying it right now but I am not really upset with my purchase.

It's true though, and that's why there's so much controversy over it. If it were a lite it'd beat the hell out of any other lites available, which pretty much means it's worth paying for. Then on the other hand once you've payed for it, content-wise it only fills the requirements for a lite. Catch 22.

thus perfectly explaining the controversy over the price. it fills the minimal requirements of a lite(one level one song one button done), but it's comparably priced like a more premium package. i thought updates would change this early on, but have seen nothing so far.

anyways i just wanted some answers about whether we'll be getting some updates or not. thank you.

Well I never denied there being a controversy, this topic is here isn't it?

Seems to me it's the age old war of quality over quantity. Mentioning no names here (freedog)... some of these guys are kinda suggesting that crappy games with loads of crappy content are worth $2.99 yet a well-presented, artistic, addictive and quite frankly beautiful looking game is not... if Adam added loads of crap to his awesome game, would it be worth $2.99 then?

we could have both quality and quantity. it's very illogical as a paying consumer to want to argue against having more quality product for your dollar. though, such people can often be described as fanboys. of course the game is well presented, artistic, and addictive. that's why i wanted to have it on the go to begin with. however, once you've spent two minutes with the thing, you've seen everything it possibly has to offer. i don't see why, for the asking price, it's so taboo here to wish there was more. even the mods seem to get in on this which is hilarious. though, i am still left with my question unanswered.

i can't speak of worth individually in response to your last comment. however, from a business perspective, of course it would generally be more worth it to the masses if there was more to offer. though, i don't know why it has to be "loads of crap," as it could easily be loads of awesome. quality and quantity can go hand in hand.

You aren't done with the game in two minutes because you can go on trying to improve your score for years. It's a game like doodle jump and while doodle jump has tons of updates, if you think of it most of them are just eyecandy. This kind of updates would not work on canabalt because they would spoil the atmosphere.

I really wanted this game, it depresses me that i missed out on buying it while it was on sale... i probably should have snapped it up the minute i noticed it was lower-priced.. :(
