I skimmed one review on BoardGameGeek (and other comments) and watched the Dice Tower app video, and I get the feeling that its still not a "kid's game" (in terms of not their targeted "6+" on the box) as there's still enough to think about. One reviewer mentioned it feels like a faster version of Everdell. The Dice Tower has an app playthrough for this and looks like there's a Story Mode (looks like different challenges), AI mode, solo mode, and pass and play. I guess maybe it depends on how much of a board gamer someone is to feel if this version is too cut down vs the original. I'm one of those lazy gamers where I feel overwhelmed with deckbuilders all all the card effects. It seems like this version is made for someone like me... I'm very tempted.
