Well, my 5th gen got it's first drop today. Dropped it while getting out of the car. Thankfully there's no scratches or anything but in still kicking myself for dropping it.
So, just found out I'm also getting a 32 GB, 4th gen. iPad for Christmas. No more problems with outdated iDevices. Very, very excited. The 4th gen. iPad will be the first iDevice that my parents have bought me since my 2nd gen. iPod, 4 years ago. Already have a list of 50-100 games in mind that I can finally play or experience fully once I get my iPad. No more incompatibility!
Good news! Trust me a 4th gen iPad means lag is unheard of and you're getting graphics that often surpass consoles with those retina res assets. Plus an iPad has a much better battery life and is a lot more immersive than an iPhone or iPod If you haven't yet: Walking Dead should be on your list for the iPad. You'll have zero stuttering (better performance than consoles, in fact) and the game is just...perfect.
I sure as hell hope that's the case. The 4th gen. iPod has been awful for running the latest games since Infinity Blade II (over a year ago). Definitely getting all the WD iAPs as soon as I get my iPad. The first chapter rocks.
My bro (10) was pretty much crying earlier because my parents wouldn't get him a rated M game with his new PS3. Game in question: BLOPS II. The first rated M game in my household was Skyrim, which I bought with my 360 last Christmas, a month before I turned 19..My parents bought a rated M game for the first time as well last Christmas. MW3 was one of my gifts. They've always been good about that. Parents ended up getting my bro the 250GB PS3 bundle that included LEGO Batman, LEGO HP: Years 5-7, and LBP: Karting. Good for them.If only they knew that the ratio of popular console games that were rated M compared to ones rated E/T was 10:1 these days though.. On the bright side, Blu-Ray player! Finally. The 4th gen. iPod he got last year got its screen cracked beyond belief in the summer. It was so bad that the plastic had been ripped off at many spots. He dropped it 3 times on concrete. He still uses it today though. Out of the 20 games I bought for my 360 in the past year, only one of them isn't rated M: Rayman Origins. Times have changed since the PS2.
I played through chapter 1 on it. You just have to restart the device..every time you play. Just opened my new iPad. Doubt I'll be using my iPod for too many games anymore. Will probably just play the most casual games (puzzlers and runners) on it now along with using it for social apps (Facebook, AIM, Tweebot, Mail).
Some games rated M are pretty ridiculous...the Halo series (at least the first two, haven't played the newer ones) have no content that's 17+ by any stretch of the imagination. Same goes for MW1 and MW2...Skyrim, Oblivion, all of them should be T just for mild-moderate violence. Where I think an M rating is justified is the extreme violence of Dead Space series or FEAR or L4D2 etc. Or BioShock, that series is just depressingly mature in the choices and themes you deal with. And then there're games like god of war and the witcher which no one would question push an M rating. Just my $.02.
It's to appease those against violent games really. Kids shooting people in the head is always questionable. Anyways, games like Skyrim usually have some little thing ("infrequent tobacco use" or something dumb like that) that make it rated M. Just realized something else: I can finally use my iPod Touch for music for the first time in years because I'll have the memory to do so.
After the very sad Newtown event there's probably going to be a lot of new scrutiny for those kinds of games anyway.
Here's an interesting watch if you've been keeping up with the gun control thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06Lw7xa6lHU
Hey guys, I've just noticed something with my iPod touch 5th gen. When I take the case off and tap the back under the camera, there's a little rattling sound. I've Googled it, and it seems it's a common sound that occurs in these new iPods, something to do with the autofocus. Anyone else with an iPod touch 5th gen notice this?
All the halo games shouldn't be M rated in my opinion, the only gore you ever encounter is the flood and they're gone now since halo 3 ODST they haven't appeared
