I just spent 30 minutes building a 50 card deck for my brother from his huge collection of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. There's some insanely cheap cards these days, lmao, but yeah, good memories. Can't believe kids these days are still into them.
I was reading the Kotaku article today with responses and comments about Sword and Sworcery being a candidate for GOTY.................. Guess which site I kicked off my favorite sites list?
Where at? I can't find anything on it, but am interested in reading it! Edit: Found it. I'll check it out lol. Edit 2: Why would you hold the site accountable for legitimate comments made by people from the internet? I, personally, didn't like the game very much. At all actually. I found that the art style was cool, the music was fantastic, and the way the two meshed together was brilliant, but at the same time, the actual "Gameplay" was a little... just boring. It was less of a game and more of a interactive slide show. I dunno I know I am in the total minority here but I just didn't find the game all the fascinating as it was made out to be. It had it's high points, for sure. GotY for iOS? Subjective, but not far fetched. Not my iOS GotY but I can see the appeal. But... GotY in the wake of games like Skyrim? That's a laugh. What I don't get is why you would stop going to Kotaku because of the, frankly, rather mixed reactions to the GotY nomination itself. Some people loved it, some people hated it, some people liked it, some people disliked it, some people like me saw the appeal, saw it's worth, and appreciated concepts of it, but just couldn't find a "hook" to grab on to. It's a rather mixed melting pot of comments if you ask me. And that goes for the article itself, more people praised it than not, and the combination of actually telling the two sides was just fine in my eyes.
I'm not going to stop visiting the site, it's just not one of my favorites anymore (Mostly cuz of the comments. I'm trying to not hold the site accountable for them, but it is just so hard to view this website everyday with people that have completely opposite viewpoints). I just wish that the little voice in my head telling me not to view the comments would speak up a little louder. I think what threw me over the top was mostly Owen Good's response.
Liking the new AppStore feature on iTunes. Click the small "i" at the bottom-right corner of the icon for the app, and all the info/screens pop up.
Check this out: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/eclipsecraft/id492415390?mt=8. Currently 82 on the paid charts. Really shows what the "common" AppStore customer is like. Even though the game is rated 1-star, I'm guessing that doesn't bring up enough warning signs for the regular Joe. EIGHTY FREAKING TWO ON THE PAID CHARTS. It's probably even sadder that this (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/battle-duty-modern-field-3/id486286280?mt=8) is about to enter the top 100 after being in the top 200 for over a month. Must be the same people who buy $99.99 iAP packages to fuel the Farmville/iMafia domination of the AppStore.
