Change of heart? I paid for both bundles, hell I've paid for other peoples' bundles too. All of these games are subject to piracy, and letting someone in on the deal a little late in the name of charity is far from immoral. You can get technical if you like, but either we give to charity here, or we don't. My conscience is clean.
Here are the links to donate without having to resort to copyright infringement: http://www.eff.org/ http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ If you are really so generous, offer your own time, money and property — not somebody else's.
No no, Midian is above the moral implications of piracy. People encourage him to pirate their work because it makes them happy and fills up their wallets.
I've already offered my own time and money, on more than one occasion. Don't talk like I'm dragging someone else into this, I made an offer and it's his decision. For all I know he agrees with you and will decline. I'm the one who plays the whole thing by morals, you're the one that blindly follows technicalities without even considering the moral side to the situation. You tried to get me on music but the plain fact is I spend a lot of money supporting the artists I like and you're still acting as though they suffer because of it. Narrow-mindedness claims yet another victim.
I was talking about the developers, of course. The games from last year's bundle are currently being offered for $68 USD. By your logic, I would be morally right to donate $1 to charity and consider myself entitled to torrent $68 of software. You are forcing my face so deep into my palm I can't breathe.
Your assessment of my logic assumes we'd settled on a donation amount, so you've pretty much failed at your little deconstruction. If you have to resort to putting words into my mouth your argument must be starting to run dry.
Methinks that Midian needs to take a chill pill... No offense but you're coming off as incredibly defensive and evasive. But I have no opinion here! Don't hate!
By what I've read, Midian bought the games and then gave them to someone else? Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I don't see anything wrong?
I should probably clarify that I am not catholic so I don't subscribe to that whole "you can do something good to be entitled to do something bad" mentality. Oh, right. I forgot that was the point of this thread.
Yes, of course you are going by the right morals. Everyone who has something you want is obviously evil and corrupt. I tried to get you on music? I said "nice " to your assessment of everyone you pirate from being evil. You download thousands of songs for free and then justify it by buying a couple shirts and a few tickets. Seems to draw parallels to the words starjimstar put in your mouth. I'm narrow minded, you got that right. Open-minded people, such as yourself, who recognize the flaws in laws and society should sit in their parent's house in their 20s and play video games all day. You wouldn't know the meaning of hard work if it bit you in your ass.
