I believe people do eat whole octopi alive. (If by alive you mean the person is eating it while THEY are alive.)
Rightly so. People only write "octopi" when they want to seem intelligent, and it's counter-productive if you know anything about the English language.
I think you mean "octopi". Though even if you spelled it right you'd technically still be wrong, it's octopuses. Octopi is an old misconception, so old that it's generally accepted these days, but that doesn't stop it from being incorrect. Nerd fact: "Octopi" assumes the word octopus is Latin, which it isn't, it's Latinized Greek. If it were a Latin word it'd be octopes, with the plural octopedes (eight feet), similar to millipedes (thousand feet) and centipedes (hundred feet).
Wow. I would have never known that nerd fact if you didn't type that. Think about that. What if in a different universe you didn't type that and it completely altered my life. Say I finish high school but in the other universe where I didn't read that I drop out and work at McDonalds until I am 65 and I retire off $150,000 i saved up over the years but i live in a very small house and I don't have anyone to talk to and I die sad and alone. Thank you for not letting me die sad and alone and thank you for completely altering my life for the better.
I am nearly finished with your brains... so I will take about your so-called "awesomeness" after a while... P.S.: I have quite some surprises in store for you.
