How's the IAP wall? AI is good, feels like an arcade game, totally opposite of RR3. It is not really a racer, it is more of a cart arcade driving game. And now with the top down camera, it also plays like Reckless Racing too. You have hdmi, this is a must buy. It has some of the best graphics on hdmi. Framerates are incredible on my iphone 4, so this even more of a must buy for you. Had a hard time taking pictures of this cause of the blur, but here is an hdmi tv view of the new camera view. Note how awesome it looks with this brand new top down camera view. And this is from a terrible camera shot. I also discovered that this view plays much better in zoom 4x hdmi tv mode versis stretch mode, so gotta retake some more pictures tomorrow cause my room is starting to get dark now. Zoom 4x mode is way better, so now I got another cool camera mode for free. Stretch mode hdmi tv and new ipad with retro top down camera view, you saw it first on Toucharcade!!! Bottom line, if you have an iphone and hdmi, you would have to have a screw loose not to buy it for a Ninjackid buck. And to save me time, yes, Ninjackid, it is worth a buck and will play great on your touch. AppSpy and SlideToPlay both gave it a perfect score in their reviews, for example. True there is no acceleration or brakes, but as I said in the main thread, if you need those in a kart racer then you are doing it wrong. Who brakes in Mario Kart? Do you ever let off the acceleration? There are tons of modes in quick play, online multiplayer that works great, and essentially two different single player campaigns. True, it can be a bit grindy at times, but it's not really a problem since the racing is just plain FUN anyway. Honestly, 2.99 was a steal. 99 cents is really crazy for this level of fun, content, and quality. Plus the devs are super active around here and always open to new features and suggestions. What more could you ask for with a buck? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #16 nightc1, Feb 27, 2013 Sweetdiss, have you played enough to find the paywall mentioned above? Haha I am not as serious as a player as you and many other gamers on TA, maybe more passionate as a hobbyist, but as a gamer, no. Yours and their concerns would be better served by someone that has gotten farther than I. I rarely play any one game that much, too busy playing 500 games on my device rather than focus on one. I haven't gotten all that far in this game. Plus I enjoy posting and the social aspects of TA more than gaming at times. But yes, I do have concerns with the coin structure and need to buy inapps at later times. There is some grinding to do, so I share some of those concerns, even now I feel sometimes the grind is a little too much and would request the developer to give us coins for every challenge race, even if one does not place. I will answer some of Mr. Biggles quoted posts later, some of them I think are wrong, but some are probably right. But for a buck, still stand by my very highly recommended, especially for you cause you have hdmi and iphone. Best framerate\graphics combo out of almost every game on the iphone. Get it. Yeah when I settle in on a game I attack it as a pretty serious gamer. That's been my joy over the last several years... To focus on a game and finish it (if that's possible). Hitting a paywall would make me regret the purchase and a bit more than that wasting my time since I'm such a completionist. I read the last three or four pages of the main thread on the game and there's one dude facing a wall early in the game and claims to be pretty good at racing games. I'm not writing it off completely yet but I keep seeing red flags that make me feel a bit like Greyskull. sweetdiss Well-Known Member Jun 15, 2009 1,743 5 38 #20 sweetdiss, Feb 27, 2013 Last edited: Feb 27, 2013 To be honest, I completed about half the game with no grinding. From there I started grinding just to see how long it would take to get the most expensive car (70,000). It took about 20-30 minutes of racing and I had it. After that I completed the remaining cups without grinding any... I just used the winnings to upgrade that best car and buy some of the power-up wheels. Maybe I broke the game a bit by doing that, though that last cup was still very challenging for me. If you ever do hit any sort of "pay wall" in the main campaign, you can switch to the Special Events (which have events tailored to every car so you don't need to save up for special cars to win) and earn more money there. If you are still hard up for coin, you can buy the yellow drifty car and the drift wheels and earn TONS that way. Furthermore, hop online and you'll get even more for those wins (which are worth more). In summary, I may not be the best to ask about pay walls since I smashed through any pay walls that might be there by getting the best car about halfway through the game. I have not paid any real money beyond the initial 2.99 purchase and have had weeks of enjoyment. There really is always something to do in this game. Edit: Just in case I made the game sound too easy with the best car, please note again that the last cup was super hard to beat, and also that I haven't even finished the special events yet because some are so difficult. I have everything bought and upgraded so there's no further way for me to "cheat" by paying more somehow, even if I wanted to. AND EVEN THEN there are still leaderboards to get time trial times on which are extremely competitive. Hope that helps! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
