Ummm 12 as of May 11th. Well then keep on truckin' I suppose. Just be aware that the moderators are volunteers, and likely neither have the time nor desire to read every post on the forums. That's where the post reporting system comes in. If you'd rather sit around and be angry over posts that aren't being taken care of because it's "not your job" to report them, more power to you.
How about everyone realize the mods are doing the best they can, and without others help this place will be what it is. Some stay, and some leave. But seriously this is like the 5th post about this issue this month. Quit crying and stay and try to help out any way you can (me I only post if the topics aren't totally off hand, otherwise I'm lurking). Do whatver but constantly bitching about it won't make the problem dissapear.
Urgh. It's supposed to be a community effort. Have you seen the ratio of members to mods? ...and before you say it, no... the answer isn't to get more mods.

The problem is that there is a general feeling of Laissez-faire here in that people are basically allowed to ramble about any number of off-topic or pointless things, and they're only rarely dealt with, and only leniently then. Reporting the handful of really serious infractions is important, and I will take a more active role in that if you'd like, but the stuff that bothers me is the small things. The constant posting of one-word replies, the recycled internet pictures, the page-long tangents. My problem with this site is that those things are basically never punished or frowned upon, and they're not really serious enough to report over. Also, a lot of people like that sort of thing. You're misunderstanding me if you think I'm just insulting you and saying that it is all your fault, because it isn't. The community that has been fostered here is one with a short attention span and a 9th-grade sense of humor, and I don't want to be the guy who is constantly reporting everyone and telling everyone to behave. Nobody wants me to do that. And in my opinion, it is the job of the moderators to be the distant authority figure that does that. The fact that people constantly go off on tangents is what I don't like about this website, and I feel that the only way to effectively deal with that is with a top-down policy change towards spam. And equally importantly: I'm not sure everyone, including yourself, would want such a change. We both may want different things out of this place, which is why I'll probably not be long for here if a place that is more in line with my vision for what a site like this should be opens up. Thats all I'm trying to say.
This site isn't that bad, I've been a member of and am currently a member of much worse sites. With much worse people that make up the community. Do this site have some jerks, idiots, ass hats? Yes of course, it's bound to happen with a forum of this size. Overall though, it's one of the better forums I've visited. I notice a lot of the people that complain about spam or people unnecessarily flaming others are the ones that I have seen do that more than a couple of times and I hope those who complain about the moderators on this site bother to report things they feel are against site rules, if not then you have no right to complain IMO.
Touch Arcade sucks! So do the mods and all the members! My plan is to stick around and tell you how dysfunctional you guys are and how much you suck five times daily.
I wouldn't be able to stand it if the forum is so strict that one-liners are not allowed. What's wrong with someone wanting to just chime in and bump up a thread with "This game is really fun!" Or "downloading now"? Did it not occur to some of you that devs might feel happy seeing some attention to their game no matter how trival the post is? If you hate this place so much, build your forum. There's plenty of free ones on the internet. You can just make one and see how you fare if you think this forum "sucks" so badly.
I really could take this one and run with it, but I've decided that is too easy to be any fun. On another note, maybe TA could add a few more moderators to shut the whiners up. I personally like it as it is now, but if strict is what people want then maybe a few more would help clean up around here.
I say "downloading now" quite a bit... but obviously I didn't post just to give everyone that bit of useless information, the idea is to spark up some interest, let the dev know it's not being ignored, maybe let other members know they'll be able to ask me for impressions on the game... so what may seem like two pointless words of spam actually has a deeper intention.
It's smart alecs like you that make this place suck! Pre-Christmas TA...EDNG...2008... When all that stuff listed above was going on this place was awesome but then you guys showed up and made this place suck!
From just reading here and there, ive come to the conclusion that kmacleod is a complete and utter prig. like seriously tho from the posts ive read by him it does come off that he thinks he is better than others
