I'm heavily suspecting Madgarden or RocketCat pulling an April Fools joke on us by saying it's been delayed till April 17th.
if you follow RocketCat on FB you will see they added some updates, looks like it will be available on the 17th (crossed fingers) here's the post: Almost missed today's update! Been extremely busy with tax crap and preparing for PAX East. Looks like Wayward Souls will be out on the 17th. That's not 100% confirmed, but it's pretty likely at this point. Launch price will be $5. We plan on increasing the price by a dollar every time we do a major content update. Updates planned: - Update 1: Adding a huge fourth area to the game, along with a lot of little tweaks. This will be done as soon as possible after the launch of the game. - Update 2: Endless Mode, and feature requests. - Update 3: Seventh character, unlocked by winning as all other characters. This would also likely have extra content we take from the PC version we'd be working on. Maybe more after that, if the game does well. But at the very least, those three big content updates above. The price would be $8 after that third update. We're doing it this way to reward early buyers, and avoid adding IAP afterwards. Not sure if this has been successful before, but we'll see!
Oh god yes!!!! I have waited for this game ever so desperately!!! Hell yeah! I know they said it's not 100% confirmed, but I'm taking it that way and if it doesn't release, then I'm done with it. So this is my final bit of pumpness left, it's all or nothing boys!!!! BRING IT ON!
Had to fix some last minute stuff, but should be submitting it today. That gives 10 days for the approval process, so yeah the 17th is still real likely. Can't wait for this to be out! We plan on doing a lot of meaty content updates, as shown in our facebook post. So we can jack up the price to $8. I have no idea if this is a sound business plan or not, but will see.
Even if it gets approved before, they'll still probably release on the 17th bc Thursday is always the big AppStore release day, as always
I love that price modeling idea. I hope more devs will start doing this. It will solve sudden price drops problems for most and it will reward early buyers and cut out adding iap for new content.
once the game is approved by apple, the devs can decide when they want to push it out (doesn't have to be Thursday), they could also distribute codes that users can enter via the app store to download it early (anytime after the game is approved) if the developers want to go that route.
We launch on Thursdays for Apple featuring (whenever that really is, I think it's really Wednesday night when it comes out in US?). Generally takes 7 days for approval. We use the extra time to send promo codes to reviewers, streamers, some other developers.
